2 CME: Continuing Education The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME ) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. 4 Webinar Overview This live webinar will introduce health care professionals and program staff who serve people at risk for STDs to the five reproductive life stages (RLS) of women. The webinar will also highlight how contraceptive choice affects a woman s STI/HIV risk as well as how STD/HIV context could affect contraceptive options. This webinar will conclude with a live question and answer session. 4

5 Learning Objectives Discuss clinical significance of the STD prevention issue. Describe epidemiological trends related to the STD prevention issue. Identify key screening, treatment, and prevention recommendations for management of the STD prevention issue. Promote health improvement, wellness, and disease prevention in cooperation with patients, communities, at-risk populations, and other members of an interprofessional team of health care providers. 5

6 Continuing Education Information To receive CE credit, an evaluation must be completed at CDC s Training and Continuing Education Online site: www2a.cdc.gov/tceonline Go to the CDC Training and Continuing Education Online at www2a.cdc.gov/tceonline. If you have not registered on as a participant, click on New Participant to create a user ID and password; otherwise click on Participant Login. Once logged on to the CDC Training and Continuing Education Online website, you will be on the Participant Services page. Click on Search and Register. For those participating with the program today through September 30, 2012, enter EC1922b into the Keyword Search box and then click on view. For those participating with the program on or after September 30, 2012, enter WD1922b into the Keyword Search box and then click on view. 6

7 Continuing Education Information Select the webinar that was conducted today. The course information page will come up. Scroll down to the Register Here section of the page. Click on the type of continuing education credit that you would like to receive and then Submit. A few demographic questions will come up. Complete the questions and then Submit. A message will come up thanking you for registering for the course. Complete and Submit the evaluation and posttest. A record of your course completion and your CE certificate will be located in the Transcript and Certificate section of the Participant Services page. Print out a copy of your certificate and send it to the appropriate accrediting agency (ACCME, ACPE, ANCC, NCHEC, etc.) so that they will have a record of your certificate. 7

8 Step-by-step instructions on how to obtain CE credit on TCEOnline Establish a user name and password at TCEOnline ( Log on to TCEOnline and do a keyword search for WD1922 (see screenshot). Select the course titled STD Prevention Series: Contraception and STI/HIV: Balancing the Tradeoffs in Different Contexts (Web on Demand) (WD1922B). Select and submit your credit type (see below).

10 Submit your demographic information. Select Click Here if you have completed the course and would like to take evaluation and/or posttest. Upon completion you will be redirected to the Participant Services Page. Complete and submit the evaluation. Complete and submit the posttest. Click on the Transcripts and Certificates link (see below).
