The WCTC Small Business Center helps you acquire that knowledge through a wide variety of affordable classes, services, events and more. Small Business Certificate Complete the following comprehensive courses to obtain the optional Small Business Certificate, $200 scholarship and FREE chamber membership. Attendance at 75% of all class meetings required to qualify. There are no prerequisites and classes may be completed in any order. The scholarship is designed to encourage every entrepreneur to commit to a well-rounded education by completing the Small Business Certificate. Scholarships are subject to available funding and will be mailed with your certificate. Free Chamber Membership The Community Chamber Connection gives certificate recipients the opportunity to experience the benefits of local chamber of commerce membership at no cost for one year. Recipients should contact the participating chambers to explore membership benefits. Limit one free membership per certificate. Nontransferable. Restrictions may apply. Dargis) Explore fundamentals of the QuickBooks software to manage your business finances. The emphasis of this class is for the student to gain some computer literacy, focusing on the Windows operating system. Textbook recommended /16 07/28 T 01:30-04:20P PWK $ Windows Beginner Windows Beginner ( ) is a new class designed for the novice computer user that will provide an introductory look at Microsoft s Windows 7 desktop operating system. Students will learn how to navigate the Windows graphical interface and how to install and work with applications. In addition, students will explore the world of file and folder management using Windows Explorer and learn how to customize Windows using numerous Control Panel applets. Student will also be able to transfer skills learned in the class to other Windows platforms. Students will learn about more advanced features of Microsoft s latest Windows operating system, including working with Microsoft s Live Essentials family of products, Windows Media Player, printing, managing hardware and backing up a computer. Textbook and flash drive required. Prereq: Windows Beginner or Windows Beginner /17 08/05 W 01:00-03:50P PWK $ Microsoft Beginning Word This course is an introduction to Microsoft Word Learn how to enter and edit text, use writing tools, format and modify documents, create simple tables, conduct small mail merges, and work with basic columns and graphic features. Participants should be computer literate and comfortable working in a Windows environment.
