1 Baydon Rowe Calgary, Alberta Telephone: (403) Resume Of Baydon Rowe Hello, Throughout my ten years in the IT industry, I have been using my skills and experience in software development, testing, and information management to produce high quality, secure, and scalable technology solutions for clients. Since June of 2008, I have been operating as an independent Software Developer and SharePoint consultant working on a number of web based solutions and SharePoint intranet implementations. Contracting primarily with Preo Software Inc., I have been involved with the development of their SaaS product line of print management software, and also primarily responsible for product development in a number of Preo partner projects with Xerox. My projects also involved the development of internal tools focused on improving quality assurance and expediting the testing process, including a fully automated test harness for deploying print drivers and verifying the resulting print statistics. I was employed full-time with ARC Resources Ltd. as the Senior Developer in the Information Technology department and then as the Supervisor of Information Services. My time at ARC Resources has provided me exposure to the inner workings of Oil and Gas companies and a better understanding of the processes and needs of the energy industry. During my four years at ARC, I was responsible for the design, development and administration of ARC s corporate website, built on Microsoft CMS, as well as the deployment, administration and user training of the SharePoint Portal Server as an Intranet environment. My responsibilities also included managing development and testing efforts, working with team members to ensure delivery of quality solutions that satisfied business requirements and budgets. While with ARC Resources, I was responsible for a wide assortment of projects including the development of numerous Human Resources, Accounting, and Operations systems that were not available in the retail market. Many of these projects were web service based information management and reporting tools, built on ASP.Net using C#, and backing onto a variety of data sources including MSSQL and Oracle. In addition to architecture and development, I was also responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of developers, introducing them to new techniques in.net and web based development implementing development concepts such as Unit Testing and Continuous Integration. Acting as both a mentor and teacher to other developers, I instructed them in concepts such as event-driven programming, multithreading, and the design of web enabled applications for distributed processing and integration using SOAP. When working with both developers and testers, I ensured that we were building on best practices in quality assurance, requirements gathering, security, and configurability that were crucial to the success of all projects. Contracting with Microsoft as a Software Design Engineer in Test has provided me the opportunity to work with a number of powerful information technologies such as XML, MSSQL, and the.net Framework in the production of automated testing systems. My responsibilities included implementation of test cycles, involving the generation of test plans, creating test tools, and managing the test team in the development of detailed test specifications and individual test cases. In my position as Test Lead with Xbox.com, I was responsible for maintaining and managing the testing of new and existing features, including localized product catalogs, authored content publishing systems, user forums, and secure communications systems between web users and the Xbox Live Web Services system. I was responsible for coordinating the quality assurance process throughout the life cycle of a feature, including identifying and offering solutions to potential threats and points of failure during design, development, and testing. Working with developers to help ensure secure auditing of features and pushing the functionality to its limits and beyond during the testing phase, ensured a robust and satisfying experience for end users. In addition to testing, I also worked with international partners in assessing change requests, migrating and managing content, and planning new functionality. My experience over the last ten years in development, testing, and operations, has given me experience in a wide range of development environments, testing methodologies, and network infrastructures. I have been involved in the many facets of the Software Development Life-Cycle in a variety of IT roles including developing enterprise solutions to securely manage employee personal and payroll information, ensuring the quality and security of user experiences on both web and client based applications, and building server farms for hosting internal and external web applications. I am looking forward to working with a cutting-edge organization where my skills, insight, and ambition will help bring success to the company and its clients alike. Page 1 of 8 - Baydon Rowe -
