With mobile giving anyone can give to your organization, directly through their cell phone. The amount is added to their cell phone bill How it Works Step 1: Get Approved Each campaign must adhere to the Mobile Giving Foundation rules summarized on this page. Once your application is approved, your campaign is ready to go. Step 2: Design Campaign Design the campaign to reach potential donors. Communicate through signage, brochures, speeches or however you choose. Everyone in your venue, at your event or on your mailing list becomes a potential donor. Step 3: Donors text in Donors text your unique keyword to a designated shortcode to make a 5 or 10 donation. They receive a text message asking them to confirm their donation, and when they reply "YES" they receive another text thanking them for donating. You can also allow donors to opt in for future text message alerts from your organization. Step 4: Collect Pledges Donor pledges will be billed through their monthly cell phone bill. When the bill is paid to their telephone company the funds are forwarded from the carrier to the Mobile Giving Foundation, which will then send them to you. Give by Cell never comes in contact with the funds. Step 5: Follow up If the donor opted in for text message alerts, send a follow-up message and reach out for further donations, share recent news, or send an event reminder. Step 6: Track Donations Log in to our web-based platform to track incoming donations and view reports over any date range, including donor phone number, total number of donations received, and total amount of funds raised. Eligibility Only 501(c)3 organizations that meet the criteria seen below can use this special donating service.
