Project Team Leader for the Restoration of the Air Logistics 3001 Building at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City to 1984 Oklahoma City-County Health Department Assistant to Medical Director: Responsible for serving as Administrative Assistant for the Medical Director. I served as the Alternate Representative for the Medical Director on various Inter-Agency Committees and Councils. I was responsible for writing Grant Proposals to the NIH, ACOG, EPA and private foundations, such as the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. My assignments included writing technical reports on environmental health matters, statistics, community epidemiology, clinic operations and budget evaluations. I helped develop and submit articles for publication in National Journals, such as, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). My responsibilities included maintaining a computer database for research use as a directory of health statistics. 1/82 to 11/82 Special Projects Officer and Assistant to the Interim Public Health Director I coordinated management activities among three major service divisions (Public Health, Environmental Health and Laboratory Service Divisions). I developed grant proposals and plans for Departments programs and funding by OSHD, EPA, Oklahoma City and County to 1982 Director of Environmental Monitoring and Analysis Division I supervised Chemists, Biologists, Limnologists, Environmental Specialists, Lab Assistants and a Secretary. I directed field sampling work performed by Sanitarians. I was responsible for upgrading laboratory personnel and equipment to modern standards. I performed analysis on a full range of environmental samples to meet EPA requirements. I operated GC, AA, IR and other lab equipment. I implemented the QA/QC requirements for EPA & OWRB Laboratory Certification Programs to 1980
3 Supervisor of Water Pollution Control Responsible for conducting the City/County wide surface water, stormwater, and wastewater treatment plant monitoring program to 1978 Limnologist I was responsible for conducting field work to collect fish, aquatic insects, algae and other biological samples from surface waters in the Central Oklahoma Region and throughout the State of Oklahoma. I wrote and developed reports and represented OCCHD at EPA, OSHD, ACOG and other Inter- Agency Meetings & Councils on Water Quality Issues. I served on various Environmental Policy and Advisory Council Committees for the Association of Central Oklahoma Governments (ACOG) to 1977 City of Oklahoma City/Department of Water Resources Chemist: Supervised City's Wastewater Laboratories located at the Southside and Northside Sewage Treatment Plants. My duties included conducting the daily NPDES sampling and analysis. I performed analysis for discharge parameters and for industry that discharged to the sanitary sewer for pre-treatment permits with the City s Industrial Sewer Use Permit Program. I filled out the NPDES Monthly Reports for City of Oklahoma City for submittal to EPA and the OSDH U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District Biologist: Performed field and laboratory work on Pittsburgh District Hydrology Branch Water Quality Section. My work involved field sampling and lab analysis for work to characterize the water quality for area reservoirs and the District s Ohio River Valley Projects. I conducted field sampling and lab analysis of water samples for chemical and biological indicators of water quality, such as algae and related plankton. I participated, with commendation, in the emergency response to the Chemical Fire and Chemical Spill Disaster affecting the Berlin Reservoir during the summer of Duquesne University, Biology Department Lab Assistant and Graduate Laboratory Instructor for Microbiology Section: I assisted Department Professors in their research and routine lab experiments. I prepared and instructed laboratories for Undergraduate and Graduate Microbiology and other Biology Courses.
