2 USA Cares: About the Organization Mission Statement: To help bear the burden of service by providing military families with financial and advocacy support in their time of need. What Makes USA Cares Different: Grants not Loans: Grants are provided to solve problems, not loans to prolong them. No repayment is ever asked or expected. Screening of Applicants: USA Cares carefully screens each applicant and works directly with service providers (utility, mortgage company, etc.) to confirm the need. Leveraging Other Assistance: USA Cares mobilizes other organizations to join in providing assistance, thus maximizing the impact of every donation. Source:

3 USA Cares Spokespersons Sgt. Bryan Anderson, Spokesperson: After serving multiple tours in Iraq, Sgt. Anderson was seriously injured in an IED explosion which left him a Triple Amputee. He inspires all with his passion for life, his determination to make a difference and to not be treated different. Sgt. Anderson rides his motorcycle each year in support of the USA Cares Charity Ride. Dennis Miller, USA Cares Ambassador: Dennis Miller has helped USA Cares with advocacy and support. Dennis continues to support our Veterans and their families, giving a voice to their situations through his successful radio show, The Dennis Miller Show. Source:

4 USA Cares: Outreach, Requests and Results Gives emergency financial assistance for essential bills. Keeps the lights on, car in the driveway and food on the table. The Impact on Michigan Military Families: Over 600 of Michigan s military families have been helped. Over 60 Michigan military homes saved from eviction or foreclosure. The recent military draw have caused an uptick in assistance requests from 150 a week to an average of 250 The most sought-after requests for grants are for assistance in rent/mortgage. Additional requests include food and transportation needs. The NDIA Charity Ride & Classic Car Show has raised over $75,000 for Michigan families

6 The Event 4 th Annual Charity Ride & Classic Car Show Saturday, August 24 th, 2013 Located at Warren City Square (Van Dyke, north of 12 Mile) Hosted in conjunction with the Warren Birthday Bash Annual city event with significant visibility with attendance totaling over 100,000 people throughout the weekend. Events to include: Motorcycle Freedom Ride (starting at Wolverine Harley Davidson), Classic Car Show, Vintage Military Vehicle Exhibit, Silent Auction, BBQ along with live music and entertainment.

7 Partnered with the Detroit Aresenal of Democracy Vintage WWII Military Vehicles and Equipment will be on Exhibit at the event to remember and honor the heroes who made possible the freedoms we now enjoy.
