3 OIT Help Desk Contact Contact the Help Desk at , or The Help Desk is open 8:00-10pm Monday through Friday and Saturday 8-5pm when school is in session, current hours are posted on the OIT website. Online 1. Help Desk Online, from the OIT home page click on the helpdesk.sjfc.edu link. 2. From the Authentication Required dialog box, enter your network credentials (username and password same as ) 3. From the SJFC Online Help Desk you can create a new work order, view outstanding, and search for work orders by order ID. 1

4 4. Reset Passwords online- Help Topic Reset Passwords. Network, Fish-R-Net, and Banner passwords can be reset from online. To reset the Network password, you must pre-register first. OIT will never ask for your username, password, or other personal information. Messages requesting this type of information are known as Phishing messages. You should never respond to these requests, and you can always contact OIT if you have questions about a message you have received. 5 Atomic Learning Atomic learning is an online, video-based software training solution available for use by faculty, staff and students. A library of thousands of short, easy-to-view tutorial movies can be viewed on the St. John Fisher College campus as well as off-campus. To access Atomic Learning: 1. Open Internet Explorer or Firefox, and log into mysjfc: The login process will log you in directly to the Atomic Learning website as yourself, allowing you to access other features of Atomic Learning. Qualtrics Offering an easy user interface solution, Qualtrics is an online survey tool available free to all faculty, staff and students. 1. Open Internet Explorer and enter: 2. From the Control Panel, click on Please click here to create an account. 3. From the Get Started Now dialog box, enter your information and click on Register. Professors or Fulltime staff member will monitor survey distribution. Sametime Unyte Host a meeting with Sametime Unyte, a service option available to Fisher faculty and staff. This web-based system allows a meeting host to connect to others (from 1 to 30 attendees) via the web. The meeting host can display a presentation, share their desktop, applications, and speak to attendees; the attendees, in turn, can interact via a chat dialog box and polls. For two-way voice interaction, a telephone-based audio option is also available. If you re interested in learning more about either of these services, please contact the OIT Help Desk. We ll be happy to provide you with demonstrations, training, and pricing information. 6 Webmail To access your webmail account, launch Internet Explorer, enter: From the webmail login page enter your username, password and click on Sign in. a. Your username is your first initial and your last name. b. Your password is your SJFC network password. First time logging into the SJFC s network your password is: The first letter of your FIRST NAME + The first letter of your LAST NAME + The character $ + Your 5 digit zip code If logging into SJFC s network for the first time, you will receive a prompt to change your password. a. The Account field will be filled in with your username. b. Enter your current password in the Old Password field. c. Enter your new password in the New Password field, enter the password again to confirm new password and click on OK. Note: Our complex password policy will require network account passwords meet the following requirements: The password is at least eight characters long. The password contains characters from at least three of the following categories: English uppercase characters (A - Z) English lowercase characters (a - z) Numeric digits (0-9) Non-alphanumeric (for example:!, $, #, or %) The password does not contain three or more consecutive characters from the user's account name. Additionally, under the new policy, passwords will expire every 180 days and you can only change your password once per day. When you change your password it can t be one of the previous four passwords used. 4

8 Spam and Quarantine 1. From the initial Webmail Window, you can access SPAM and Quartine links. Or Open Internet Explorer and enter/type in the Address box: a. Log onto SJFC Anti-Spam Services. Enter your same username and password as you use for webmail and click on Login. b. The Quarantine Inbox you can determine which messages are Spam and which s are not. Check boxes next to each and choose one of the four options. Deliver- message will be delivered to your webmail inbox. Spam- message will be deleted from Quarantine Inbox and classified as Spam. Not Spam- message will be delivered to webmail inbox and classified as Not Spam. Delete- message will be deleted from Quarantine Inbox. 6

9 c. Click on the Preference tab. Within the Whitelist/Blacklist screen you have two options. Whitelist- addresses entered here will be delivered to your webmail inbox after being scanned for viruses. Blacklist- addresses entered here will always be blocked and will not be delivered. Cloud Storage Google Drive SJFC has partnered with Google to offer Google Docs/Drive for SFJC faculty, staff and students. We strongly recommend using Google Drive provided by SJFC (not a personal account) instead of other cloud based solutions such as DropBox due to security and compliance concerns. To access your Google drive account, visit the OIT home page: click on the Drive link and login with your network credentials. 7

10 Network Storage Space All faculty, staff and students are allotted a specific amount of network space. The P: drive is your Personal network space on the server and is accessible both on campus and off campus. The default size is 250MB for faculty, staff and students. The P: drive is backed up nightly. Access P: drive 1. How to access: a. From your office you can access your P: drive: Click on My Computer; double click on (P:) located under Network Drives section. b. From the labs computers including ( ITEC s, Library computers, Cyber Café, etc), My Documents is defaulted to your P: drive. c. From off campus: Open My Computer >in the address bar enter: ftp://ftp.sjfc.edu and press enter. The Log On As dialog box will pop up asking for your username and password. Your username is: academia/ your SJFC username Your password is the same a logging into the computers on campus, and click Log On. Your files should appear and look exactly like your P: drive on campus. d. When accessing Citadel from a remote location you are unable to save directly into Citadel. After opening a file from Citadel, first save to your hard drive. Right click on the file and select copy. On your P:drive on citadel>right click on any empty space >select paste. 8

11 Account Maintenance- Personal Network Space (P: drive) 1. To check how much space is available. a. Click on Start>select My Computer b. Right click on p drive>select properties Account Maintenance - Outlook What do I do when my mailbox is full? 1. Right click on mailbox> select properties> click on folder size Default folder size for Faculty and Staff is 200MB 2. Check the following four folders and clean them up: Drafts/Sent Items/ Junk Mail/ Deleted Items This step can be done from Webmail 3. Click on File>select Archive This step can only be done from your office PC for Faculty and Staff This removes items from the server and stores them on your office PC, can only access from that PC, not visible from Webmail.
