1 Position Title: ENROLLED NURSE (Graduate Program) Date of Effect: January 2016 Type of Employment: Division: Accountable to: Direct Reports: Liaises with: Temporary Part time/fulltime Nursing Director of Nursing Nil Nursing staff Medial staff Clerical staff Allied Health staff Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is a busy sub-regional integrated health service of 228 beds and is the major referral facility for the greater part of North East Victoria. NHW provides a wide range of acute specialist medical and surgical services including; an emergency department, critical care unit, obstetrics and gynaecology, paediatrics and specialised aged care, community rehabilitation, and inpatient, community, aged and psycho-geriatric mental health services. There is also a broad range of community health services and NHW auspices a number of other regional services in post acute care, palliative care and infection control. The duties of this position are to be performed with adherence to the purpose and values of Northeast Health Wangaratta s strategic plan and compliance with the Code of Behaviour for staff of Northeast Health Wangaratta. 3 KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Essential A current National Police Check (renewed every 3 years) A current Working with Children Check (renewed every 5 years) Statutory Declaration for applicable workers who have lived overseas Ability to comply with the Behavioural Outcomes for this role Diploma of Nursing completed within previous 12 months Eligible for or holds current registration as an Enrolled Nurse with the AHPRA. Desirable Proven oral and written communication skills Proven ability to work in a team environment Demonstrated time management skills Understanding and ability to manage supporting IT systems Understanding of 44 aged care and 10 national acute care standards and ability to incorporate these in daily work practices Demonstrated commitment to ongoing education of self and others Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to Quality Improvement Understanding of contemporary nursing theory and practice as they related to enrolled nursing Knowledge of the Aged Care ACT 1997 Knowledge of the Montessori Theory and an ability to incorporate into nursing practice. Lead and participate in delivery of a high standard of person centred care ROLE STATEMENT Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, perform nursing functions in accordance with his/her educational preparation and in keeping with The ANCI National Competence standards for Enrolled Nurses, The Code of Ethics for Nurses in Australia and The Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses in Australia. To work within the philosophy, guidelines and policies of the hospital and the nursing division. 5 Organisational Management Meet and maintain standards of regulatory compliance for administrative and clinical information records and systems within the Australian Legislation and Regulation, Victorian Legislation and Regulation (ie Public Record Office of Victoria) and Northeast Health Wangaratta Policy and Procedure Framework. Correct and timely documentation resulting in validated ACFI and/or WEIS funding claims Documents patient/resident care accurately and objectively and in accordance with ACFI standands Facilities & Environment Assists in maintaining a safe, secure and respectful environment for self and other Monitor and manage effective resource usage.
