AAS 101 leads students through the building of their first prior learning portfolio. After taking and passing AAS 101, students may continue to build portfolios as self-directed products and submit them for college credit. Students may earn up 24 hours of credit for prior learning. Students holding an AAS are not required to complete a portfolio; however, they may opt to do so to earn additional upper division hours needed for degree completion. A total of 45 upper division hours are required for the BAAS degree. 5
