5 DISCOVER RESEARCH IS PROOF Research gives us and our clients the exact direction and confidence to do great marketing AND get results. The Marketing Department is equipped and experienced in small research methods that include: Surveys Competitive Analysis Web Data Research Focus Groups S.W.O.T. Analysis Internal Lead Generation Field Research Meetings Research At Marketing Department Inc. we don t build plans around our capabilities, we create strategies around goals that begin with research. In the past few years we conducted research and wrote analysis reports for two cities, one county, a bank, a hospital, and two economic development projects, which resulted in the development of successful marketing programs. 8

6 TARGET We work closely with Aspirus, the western U.P. s largest healthcare system, and help develop strategies to meet goals. We helped them gain 8% market share in a highly competitive health care market. DEFINE AND PRIORITIZE TARGET YOUR AUDIENCE We target our client s priorities and define their audience. This allows us to develop a communication platform for their customers experiences. In some cases it might mean recharging a brand and in other cases it might mean improving services. Every client is unique every solution is different. 9

7 ENERGIZING HIGH-TECH BUSINESS GROWTH BE EXCELLENT LISTEN AND POSITION We aim to make each client exceptional. Through our process we find our client s competitive advantage and use their personalities and goals to develop a communication platform. This is where company descriptions and taglines are born. LISTEN AND POSITION We created a robust PR Program for MTEC SmartZone that gained attention in Lansing. In addition, the work we did for MTEC SmartZone won a state-wide award. 12

8 PLANNING AND BUDGETS Marketing Department created event brands and promotions for two area organizations which resulted in $35,000 in fundraising. All that money is going right back into the community. More important we maintained budgets that created profitability. We are conscious of working through the process efficiently to maximize time and creativity. BE SMART. BE SUCCESSFUL PLANNING & BUDGETS Once we understand our client s entire situation, including their budgets, we plan. We work with clients on smart strategies that will help them succeed. We plan everything, from the approach and methods to launching and measuring. 13

9 CREATE WITH PASSION MARKETING IS MORE THAN DESIGN. CREATE Design alone will not create sales, increase margins, find new customers, or create brand awareness. However we have used design to energize and brand the area s two largest downtowns, four technology companies, one ski hill, four non-profit community organizations, two restaurants, six internal cultural programs, seven social media sites, over 100 logos and 45 websites. This is usually where our clients start having the most fun and (we confess) us, too. We take everything we ve learned about our clients and start developing the look and feel. We present clients with several concepts and work with them to refine designs and ideas. 16

10 Expand Our team is experienced in all media, from print and web to video and social, and content marketing to public relations.
