41 Annual Report Goals and Academic Achievement Expectations Template The School Reform Act requires that public charter schools report on progress towards goals every year in their annual reports. Below, please find your school s goals and academic achievement expectations as they are written in your charter and subsequent amendments. Please populate the cells in yellow, following the example, and insert it exactly as reflected below in your 2015 Annual Report. You should first state whether or not your school met the goal, followed by the specific evidence, including the assessment. If your school has adopted the PMF Roots PCS - Goals and Academic Achievement Expectations EXAMPLE: Goal met or unmet Goal met. Progress toward goals At least 75% of Pre- Kindergarten students will meet or exceed widely held expectations of growth from the Fall to the Spring administration of the GOLD assessment. ABC PCS met this goal. 80% of pre- kindergarten students met or exceeded widely held expectations of growth from the fall to spring administrations of the GOLD literacy assessment. 1. Roots PCS will continue to demonstrate a commitment to serving students (FAPE- free appropriate public education) with disabilities by completing the Public Charter School Board s Quality Assurance Review (QAR) in the fall of RPCS will create a Special Education QAR Action Plan in collaboration with PCSB staff, and achieve in place for all indicators of the QAR by the end of the spring of 2016 and until its next five- year review school year and beyond. Goal Met Roots PCS will continue to demonstrate a commitment to serving students via FAPE. RPCS completed the QAR in the fall of We are on target for the 2016 review as an independent charter for purposes related to SPED.

For students in PK3 and PK4, at least 75 % of Pre- Kindergarten students will meet or exceed widely held expectations per the growth report from the Fall to the Spring administration of the GOLD literacy assessment. 3. At least 75% of students in kindergarten through second grade will increase by at least one reading level or maintain proficiency by the spring administration of the Scholastic Reading assessment (SRA) reading mastery test. 4. At least 75% of first and second grade students will score proficient on the Scholastic Reading assessment (SRA) reading mastery test. 5. The percent of students scoring proficient or advanced on the state reading assessment will meet or exceed the state average at each grade level 3-5 each year At least 75 % of Pre- Kindergarten students will meet or exceed widely held expectations per the growth report from the Fall to the Spring administration of the GOLD math assessment. Goal Met Goal Met Goal Exceeded Results Unknown Goal Met The results from the Fall administration of the GOLD literacy assessment showed that 83% of the students in PK3 and PK4 met or exceeded proficiency. The results from the Spring administration showed that 100% of the students met or exceeded proficiency. The results from the Spring administration of the SRA reading mastery test showed that 84% of students in kindergarten through second grade met or exceeded proficiency. The results from the spring SRA showed that 78% of the 1 st & 2 nd grade scored proficient in reading. Awaiting results from PARCC The results from the Fall administration of the GOLD math assessment showed that 50% of Pre- Kindergarten students met or exceeded proficiency. The results from the Spring administration showed that 100% of the students met or exceeded proficiency. 1 As with all schools, if n sizes are too small to report state assessment achievement data on a grade level basis, we will use school- wide achievement data on the state assessment for to measure progress towards goals and academic achievement expectations for reviews and renewals.
43 7. At least 75% of students in grades K through 2 will advance one level or maintain proficiency on the My Math assessment. 8. The percent of students scoring proficient or advanced on the state math assessment will meet or exceed the state average at each grade level Goal Met Results Unknown The results from the Spring administration of the My Math assessment showed that 90% of students in kindergarten through second met or exceeded proficiency. Awaiting results from PARCC Note: The annual report is an opportunity for schools to self- report on their progress in meeting their goals and academic achievement expectation. PCSB will not, as part of the annual report process, make an independent assessment of school goal attainment. PCSB s acceptance of and publication of a school s annual report does not imply PCSB s concurrence or disagreement with the school s self- assessment. PCSB will assess in its formal charter reviews and renewals whether a school has met its goals. Charter reviews normally occur every five years but may occur at any time. Charter renewals occur in the fifteenth year of the school s charter. When the school undergoes such a review or renewal, PCSB may seek supporting documents and additional data to validate this narrative.
