14 The Interviewing Process Prepare multiple case examples (formal and anecdotal) Be mindful of who your audience is that you are presenting for Leave time for questions and process, do not overpack presentations Personal style and personality, show them who it is they would be working with as a co-worker Anticipate a panel of interviewers and a presentation

16 Brief Case Conceptualization 19-year-old, female, Asian American sophomore in Biology presents for counseling. She reports that she has been struggling with motivation and feeling like she doesn t care anymore about school. Reports that in the past month, she has struggled to maintain high performance in her classes and is unsure of her major. Reports that she has difficulty falling asleep due to being worried that she s forgotten to take care of something on her to-do list. Reports that she has had several experiences this semester where she felt dizzy and lightheaded during class and felt the need to leave the room. She reports that she feels tearful when she thinks about everything going on and sometimes wishes she could just run away and be a nobody. Reports that she is an only child and a first generation college student. Her parents immigrated from Hong Kong, and have hopes of her being a doctor. Student reports she hasn t considered any other options because she didn t have a choice.

The client is a vehicle through which you present your theoretical orientation, treatment goals, interventions, & successes. Include multicultural and legal/ethical considerations.
