The directory describes over 40 geographically grouped human services transportation programs and public transportation services. For information on other transportation services, you may refer to the Yellow Pages under Disability Services or Buses-Charter and Rental. Most services provide (unless otherwise noted): Door-to-door service; personal assistance to passengers; service weekdays during business hours; and request at least a two day reservation in advance. No lift service. Minneapolis VEAP: VOLUNTEERS ENLISTED TO ASSIST PEOPLE Phone: Trip purpose: x134 Bloomington, Richfield, Edina, and Minneapolis (South of 50th St and West of Cedar Ave); transport within metro area as far as downtown Minneapolis, the U of MN Hospital, and Methodist Hospital, and Park Nicolette Clinic in St. Louis Park. Medical, grocery, on-going personal errands (i.e., prescription, visit family in a care facility), social support services Monday - Friday 8:30am 3:30pm, 5 business days in advance. Sometimes a shorter notice can be accommodated, depending on driver availability. Low-income seniors 55+ and disabled individuals who have no other transportation resources available or minimal transportation resources. Donation, but one MUST apply to be able to participate in this program. A very simple application is taken over the phone and only takes about 10 minutes. Minimum age to travel without an accompanying adult is 10 years old. $1.75 one way (must have correct fare); Children 5 & younger are free.
