4 Continuing Studies Serves a Range of Nontraditional Students We provide advising and counseling for thousands of adults who are returning to college or considering doing so whether to complete a degree, to explore their career options, or for the love of learning. Adult student scholarships administered by the division benefit students who return to school while juggling families and jobs. Program participants from youth to older citizens enjoy the enrichment experiences offered by Continuing Studies and its campus partners. 4 Health-care professionals, educators, and others stay current in their fields, renew credentials, and advance in their careers through our professional development programs.

5 The Word on the Street: What People Say About Our Programs and Services Better Than Okay mental health workshop: Very uplifting. Great new way to explore how to be helpful to clients that is focused on strengths, not pathology. African Dance: I took the class so I could be more active and healthy. I can already see results. Mental Health Seminars: The geriatric mental health series has been a boost to my social work career. Leadership and Management series: We engaged in very beneficial conversations that opened up other ideas. The instructor was extremely knowledgeable and used great examples. Annual Distance Learning & Teaching Conference: It really did exactly what I wanted it to do which was to help me to shift gears from the classroom environment to the virtual classroom environment. School of the Arts at Rhinelander: School of the Arts always takes me to a place inside myself I ve never been. Write-by-the-Lake master class: The content, class discussion, and critiquing were highest level. This is why I come 250 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul! Writing critiques: Sending your whole manuscript in for a critique at the Continuing Studies program is money well spent. French class: As an adult learner I was amazed at how much I learned in about two months. Facilitating by Heart: The tools and techniques shared in [Facilitating By Heart] are pure gold. Facilitating By Heart is the best integrated series of workshops that I have attended. 5
