6 Operating secure and reliable networks SATELLITE OPERATIONAL SERVICES Our operational sites in Redu, Belgium, and Betzdorf, Luxembourg, provide reliable and cost-effective operations. From our Redu teleport, we operate GEO satellites and LEO satellites, such as those used for earth observation and scientific research, while GEO and MEO satellites for broadcast and broadband services are operated from our Betzdorf teleport. 7 TURNKEY TELEPORTS AND GROUND INFRASTRUCTURE From traffic uplink stations and TT&C facilities to VSAT systems and much more, we can provide expertise in every aspect of the satellite communications value chain. SES Techcom Services has experience of building Network Operations Centres and Spacecraft Operations Centres, as well as providing consultancy services for complete teleport design and build. We also offer hosting services from our world-leading teleports in Betzdorf and Redu, where our standards of security, reliability and availability are unsurpassed. 8 Improving access to humanitarian aid E-PLATFORMS Led by the Luxembourg government, SATMED is a high quality e-health platform which brings together multiple medical applications and tools on a single platform. With SATMED and its connection to the emergency.lu platform, site-independent satellite Internet connectivity can be established worldwide, providing humanitarian aid in rural and poorly connected areas. Combining different tools that together cover a wide range of applications such as e-care, e-consultancy, e-learning, e-surveillance and e-health financing the single-access integration provided by SATMED represents a breakthrough in user-friendliness and interoperability. 9 RAPID DISASTER RESPONSE COMMUNICATIONS As a global multi-layer platform for the international humanitarian community, emergency.lu aims to improve worldwide preparedness and rapid-response capacity by filling the communication gap in the first hours and days after a disaster. Emergency.lu is a public-private partnership between the Luxembourg government and three Luxembourg-based companies. SES Techcom Services designs and operates the platform together with Hitec Luxembourg and Luxembourg Air Ambulance. In order to re-establish communications networks in support of humanitarian relief operations, emergency.lu also relies on SES satellite capacity and ground infrastructure.
