5 외케니 이슈트반 극장 Örkény István Theater Description Örkény Theatre is a very young company in the heart of Budapest with a fairly small ensemble of 17 actors. Surprisingly quickly, basically in two years, the Örkény Theatre has broken the highly commercial tradition of its predecessor. It has found a new and faithful audience for contemporary productions, as well as new and courageous stagings of classical plays. An important part of the repertory is mounting plays that reflect social problems, and these plays vary from ancient Greek tragedies to contemporary foreign avantgarde pieces. Being the largest public building in the city for decades (and the largest theatre in the city), it was made part of the Hungarian State Opera House in The Theatre is located in II. 11 유라니 인큐베이터 예술극장 Jurányi Art Incubator House Description The Jurányi Art Incubator House is located in an old school building rented from the government on the Buda side, where theatres can be hardly found. On nearly 6500 m², 5 levels more than 15 theatre and dance companies and several other artistic organizations and groups have found their home. They can show their productions in several premises: in a big theatre hall or in a smaller studio. The house includes Hungary s probably first set design and costume rental service, as well as a set design workshop and show room. 14 람 콜로세움 RaM Colosseum RaM Colosseum in Radnóti Miklós Culture Centre is the capital's first experience theatre, the exclusive venue of the ExperiDance ensemble in Budapest. The ExperiDance Production of art director-choreographer Sándor Román was voted one of the 10 best dance ensembles of the world by the audience. They toured Spain, Turkey and other countries around the world as the roving ambassadors of Hungarian dance. However, this is not the only reason as to why Radnóti Theater is an interesting product of the capital s theater scene: the titles on the repertoire, marked by the names of Chekhov, Gogol or Ibsen, do not necessarily suggest that wild and modern, progressive characteristic that gives the spice of Nagymező Street s theater. Their primary goal is to strike a balance between various directions and classic traditions while keeping up a modern approach. Its company started in August 22, 1837 as the first major Hungarian-language theatrical company in the city. They operated under this label until August 8, 1840, when the name was changed to National Theatre of Hungary. 17 국립 오페라극장 Hungarian State Opera Opened: September 27, 1884 The Hungarian State Opera House is the largest opera house in Budapest and in Hungary. It is a neo-renaissance opera house located in central Budapest, on Andrássy út. It was designed by Miklós Ybl, a major figure of 19th century Hungarian architecture. Construction began in 1875, funded by the city of Budapest and by Emperor Franz Joseph of Austria-Hungary, and the new house opened to the public on the 27 September The auditorium holds 1,261 people. It is horseshoe shaped and according to measurements done in the 1970s by a group of international engineers has the third best acoustics in Europe after La Scala in Milan and the Palais Garnier in Paris. 18 부다페스트 오페레타 극장 Budapest Operetta Theatre Description The building of the Budapest Operetta Theatre (Budapesti Operettszínház) in Nagymező Street was designed by the Viennese studio Fellner and Helmer. Although a reconstruction in 1966 altered the interior design of the theatre to a great extent, it is still the same 100-year-old chandelier that casts light on the auditorium. Today, director Miklós Gábor Kerényi manages a true musical theatre here, with Hungarian operettas and contemporary musicals on the repertoire in addition to the historical-literary musicals aimed at the younger generation. The 500 performances in front of guests each year make this one of the most frequented theatres of Hungary. The air-conditioned auditorium seats 901 persons and is quite popular in the circle of foreigners, so the operettas are subtitled in German, while the musicals are subtitled in English. 19 예술궁전 Palace of Arts (Mupa, Művészetek Palotája) The structure of the Palace of Arts covers a ground area of 10,000 m² and the total floor space of the building is 70,000 m². It received the Prix d Excellence of FIABCI in The Palace of Arts is a building in Ferencváros, Budapest, Hungary, officially opened in March It is located near Rákóczi Bridge and was designed by Zoboky, Demeter and Partners Architectural Office. The National Theatre, which opened in 2002, is located next to it. Bartók National Concert Hall is 25 m high, 25 m wide and 52 m long, providing a total capacity for 1,699 people. The concert hall features variable acoustics. The organ of the concert hall, inaugurated in 2006 by Xaver Varnus has 92 stops and 5 manuals as well as 470 wooden pipes, 5028 tin pipes and 1214 reed pipes. It is one of the largest organs in Europe. A fully playable virtual version of this pipe organ named Palace of Arts Budapest Pipe Organ Samples was developed in Festival Theatre in the Eastern third of the Palace of Arts building, seats 452 and also has the most modern technology. 20 Liszt Academy of Music 프란츠 리스트 아카데미 Founded: November 14, 1875 (Founder: Franz Liszt) The Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music (Liszt Ferenc Zeneakadémia) is a concert hall and a worldfamous music conservatory. The Academy opened its doors in 1875, and in a short period of time it became one of the most prestigious musical institutions in Europe. The building was erected in 1907 in Art-Nouveau style. Its interior is richly decorated with frescos, stained glass, and mosaics and its concert hall is considered the most beautiful of its kind in Budapest. At the same time the square in front of the building was named 'Liszt Ferenc tér' in honor of the great composer. Nowadays it became a trendy and busy place with the ambience of cozy café and restaurant around square. Once the workplace of world-famous Hungarian musicians and composers, like Béla Bartók or Zoltán Kodály, the Academy today attracts students from the four corners of the world as one of the top music schools. Folllowing a 4-year reconstruction, the building was reopened to the public in the autumn of 2013 with its former beauty in contemporary quality. 21 Pesti Vigadó 페슈티 비가도 Description Vigadó (literally translated as a 'place of merriments') was designed by Frigyes Feszl and was opened with a spectacular banquet in It was the most prestigious concert hall of the 19th century, with performances by the likes of Franz Liszt, Johann Strauss, Johannes Brahms and Claude Debussy. The palace was also used for the purpose of balls, illustrious social events and conferences. The building was severely damaged during the World Wars, but it was reconstructed in harmony with the original designs in the 1970ies. Since its latest reconstruction (2014), the city has been reintroduced to this time-honoured concert and arts venue, at par with the Palace of Arts, the Academy of Music and the Opera. The roof terrace offers a unique panorama of the Danube Promenade underneath and the Várkert Bazaar across the river, which also adds up to the prestige of the building. 22 부다페스트 뮤직센터 Budapest Music Center (BMC) The Budapest Music Center in the 9th district of Budapest is also home to the International Eötvös Institute. The centre's concert hall is capable of seating 350 persons and was designed especially for chamber music performances - and as such it is the first of its kind in Budapest. The musical library and information centre has a musical collection of items and also offers public and free access to online databases. The classrooms and event halls are suitable for several week-long international musical courses, professional events and meetings. 23 A38 Ship A38 is the reincarnation of an Ukrainian stone-carrier ship. With its inauguration on 30 April 2003, A38 is a concert venue, cultural centre and restaurant floating on the Danube near the abutment of Petőfi Bridge on the Buda-side. Aboard, the people can enjoy a beautiful panorama of South Pest, the Millenial Culture Center, the Palace of Arts, and the National Theatre - which is even more picturesque at night when the lights come on. 24 콘체르토 부다페스트 뮤직하우스 Concerto Budapest House of Music In a tiny little street in Ferencváros there is a genuinely cultural institute; the Concerto Budapest House of Music. This is the home of the Concerto Budapest symphonic orchestra with their rehearsals kept here. And what's more, music performances are also organized here regularly, like smaller chamber concerts and children's programs. It is also possible to rent the rooms, which are perfectly suitable for recordings, cultural events and even conferences. The music life of the institute is coordinated by the acknowledged violinist András Keller, who also pays close attention to involving young talent. The bigger concerts of the orchestra are held at the Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music and the Palace of Arts and it is possible to get seasonal tickets as well. It is a cultural space, a culture center, a redefined community center, and a community office. 26 바케릿 멀티아트센터 Bakelit Multi Art Center Bakelit Multi Art Center follows the trends of New York. This multi-faceted art complex in Soroksári út is constituted of a hangar, two dancefloors, a ''nook'' and a bar made of bottles. 27 푸데 극장바 & 갤러리 Púder Bárszínház és Galéria Situated in the haven of cafes, bars and restaurants, Ráday utca, Púder Bárszínház és Galéria (Bar Theatre and Gallery) is a stronghold of culture and gastronomy.
