3 Ionic Polymer-Polymer Composites with Water Disadvantages with water as solvent The applied electric potential must be limited to less than 1.3V at room temperature to avoid electrolysis. Pedot electrodes become degraded during sample hydration in solvent. 3

4 IP 2 C with Ethylene Glycol and EMI Tf as solvent Basic procedure to fabricate IP 2 Cs: Nafion samples are first dried to remove water 1. They are soaked overnight in a beaker containing pure EG or EMI Tf and heated to 6 C or 14 C for 3 hours 2. Organic conductor is deposited through coating technique 3. The samples are dried under extractor fan and heated to 6 C for 2 hours H 2 O Evaporation from Nafion Nafion in Ethylene Glycol Organic conductor deposition 4
