URICE University of Pennsylvania Law School 3400 Chestnut Street Philadelphia, Pa PROFESSIONAL APPOINTMENTS current Project for Cultural Heritage Law & Policy Director I oversee all aspects of a project to promote the teaching of cultural heritage law and policy in the nation s law schools and schools of public policy. Among several goals, the project will produce a new text book, model course syllabi, and a comprehensive bibliography. The project is funded by The Pew Charitable Trusts, J. Paul Getty Trust, and Samuel H. Kress Foundation, administered by the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and based at the University of Pennsylvania Law School The Pew Charitable Trusts, Philadelphia Officer, Culture Program I was responsible for developing, planning, and implementing the Trusts new national culture program, a 5-year, $50 million initiative to develop the advocacy capacity of the nonprofit arts and culture sector. In , in response to substantially reduced grants budgets and as part of the Trusts reorganization as a public charity, the national culture program was among several programs that the Trusts terminated Rosenbach Museum & Library, Philadelphia Director As Director, I oversaw the financial and programmatic turn-around of one of America s finest small museums, housing one of the world s great collections of rare books and manuscripts. I worked with the trustees to develop an ambitious strategic plan including the institution s first capital campaign and physical expansion (completed by my successor). The Rosenbach received the largest challenge grant awarded by the National Endowment for the Humanities to any museum in Frederick R. Weisman Art Foundation, Los Angeles Deputy Director and Counsel, serving as Acting Director While overseeing the daily operations and finances of the Foundation, I worked closely with the founder of this contemporary art-collecting and grant-making foundation and with his legal and accounting advisors to C:\DOCUME~1\JOANROSE\LOCALS~1\TEMP\CV3.doc Revised: February, 2004
