You ve just taken your first step towards becoming a Changer, and are about to start making the world a better place through the power of solar energy. At the heart of what we do is a belief in the ideas of sustainability and responsible living, and our products are an extension of this philosophy. Your Changers Starter Kit has two pieces the Maroshi panel and the Kalhuohfummi battery, designed to be used together. The third piece of the puzzle is our community at com. It s here that you can share your successes with others, compete with friends with your CO 2 savings and energy production, and unlock rewards based on your contributions. Being a part of our community unlocks benefits and advantages that go beyond free solar power. 4 The system The package The system The Changers Maroshi turns the rays of the sun into electrical energy, with no CO 2 emissions, no cost, and no fossil fuels. It s the bridge that turns the incredible power of our closest star into the juice that keeps your mobile phone running. If that isn t cool enough, the Kalhuohfummi battery exists to make that supply of energy easier to control and use. The power from the sun charges the panel and the Kalhuohfummi stores that power, so that whenever you need it, you have immediate access to a supply of energy. When you connect your Kalhuohfummi device to your computer, our software will accurately tell you exactly how much power you have generated, and how much CO 2 you have saved. This info is not just for you but you can share it with a wider community on com. Uploading more savings will unlock credits, which can be redeemed for products, prizes and awards that will make you the envy of your friends. 3. 5 Get started Get started If you have the Kalhuohfummi and the Maroshi in front of you, you are ready to get started. Just insert the DC plug of the solar module into the input jack of the Kalhuohfummi. In principle you can connect any solar battery to the solar module that meets the technical specifications in Chapter 5. The blinking frequency of the battery will let you know exactly how much power you are generating at any given time the faster the blinking, the more energy is being produced. Use this blinking to work out the best position at any given time and place. The angle at which the sun hits the panel can make a significant difference on your energy generation, so try some different positions for maximum effect! Remember, the more power you generate, the more you can upload and the more Changers credits you can unlock. 4.1 Outdoor usage The included suction cups are perfect for attaching the panel to smooth surfaces. You can use some imagination and mount the panel in innovative places. Bear in mind that a window pane will filter out some solar energy, so try and avoid anything coming between the panel and the sun. Be careful setting your panel up outside ensure it is securely attached to avoid it potentially falling. We encourage you to take your Maroshi panel with you whether it s a road-trip, picnic, day in the park or camping holiday. It s a great way to keep a mobile supply of power with you. Make sure you keep the Kalhuohfummi battery out of direct sunlight and moisture and remember that a car dashboard can get very hot, very fast.

7 Care and maintenance Care and maintenance Previous designs of solar panels used unwieldy glass to protect the solar cells from environmental hazards. The Maroshi uses light, tough and flexible plastics. It s engineered to be resilient, but should still be treated carefully to avoid damage. It s mostly common sense do not attempt to cut or over bend the panel and treat it with care and you and your Maroshi have a long future ahead of you. The panel is flexible and can be bent, but prolonged over-bending can causes creases and damage that will reduce the efficiency of your Maroshi panel. Do not place objects on the panel and do not sit on it. We recommend to disconnect the charging cable between the solar panel and the solar battery when not in use. Never attempt to cut the panel. Temperatures of over 90 C (194 F) may destroy the solar panel. Make sure to place the module so that no heat build-up can occur. Never place flammable, explosive or dangerous objects in the vicinity of the solar module. When using the suction cups to attach the panel, make sure that the device is securely affixed to the surface. Failure to do so may result in potential danger caused by falling devices. 6.1 Safety instructions In order to ensure an uninterrupted supply of power to the solar module, it is important to keep the panel clean. We recommend that you regularly check for dust and dirt that can impact the efficiency and quality of your solar charging. Use a soft and wet cloth for cleaning - no harsh chemicals, cleaning solvents or strong detergents. 6.2 Tips for use

Packages contain valuable raw materials and should be disposed of sustainably. 8.1 Disposal of packaging The solar module contains substances that do not belong to domestic waste.
