2 Cincinnati State Background Cincinnati State sees the adoption of College Credit Plus as building on our successful high school dual enrollment program over the past five years. Number of School Partners: 31 Student Enrollment: 1,116 (Fall 2014) Course Sections: 48 (Fall 2014) Teachers Approved: 68 Credits: 3,868 (Fall 2014)

3 College Credit Plus Course Delivery Options College course delivered at the high school location by a high school teacher qualified to teach collegelevel courses and approved by the college academic department College course delivered online by college faculty College course delivered on the college campus

4 Cincinnati State and District Together Develop and approve a dual enrollment plan for each course before the course is available to students (for courses delivered at the high school location). Determine process to verify students are college ready* for each course in collaboration with the content experts/counselors at the high school and at Cincinnati State (support OBR remediation-free standards) Coordinate processes to minimize duplication of testing, application, and course registration Align registration processes to ensure enrollment deadlines meet Board of Regents census dates. Cincinnati State, together with each partner high school, will publicly display a minimum of two pathways: one where an eligible student can earn 15 semester credit hours; and one where an eligible student can earn 30 semester credit hours of transcripted credit.

5 Cincinnati State Responsibilities For courses delivered at the high school Communicate to high school administration college criteria for instructor qualifications to teach each college-level course. Review and approve where appropriate high school faculty qualifications to teach college level classes. Provide orientation, training and ongoing professional development to high school instructors required to deliver designated college courses Conduct at least one observation visit of each section of college course taught in the partner high school location. (NEW-required under CCP) Create a student record and list course credits on student s college transcript including: course name, course number, credit hours, final grade(s), and term.

6 Cincinnati State Responsibilities, Continued For participating students taking courses in high school or on campus College will assign an advisor to each student enrolled in CCP whether the course is offered on the college campus, online, or at a partner high school location. (NEW required under CCP)

7 School District Partner Responsibilities Annually, coordinate with Cincinnati State to present at least one dedicated College Credit Plus promotional event to district students and parents (CCP Expectation). Publish Cincinnati State s College Credit Plus Pathway (15 and 30 credit) curriculum prominently on district web site as part of the district s official course offerings (CCP Expectation).

8 School District Partner Responsibilities For College Courses Offered at the High School Identify qualified and interested high school faculty for teaching a designated dual enrollment course section at the local high school who meet Cincinnati State criteria as adjunct instructors. Provide time and support for these instructors to attend professional development/training. Coordinate verification and completion of student entrance requirements as specified by the agreement. Assign classes to appropriate facilities including laboratory and lecture areas at the high school location. Provide students with textbooks, learning resource materials, and other physical equipment or online resources as needed for the course being offered. Schedule and teach each class at the high school location according to the requirements of the college course syllabus.
