I guided the Curriculum and Instruction Department in establishing three off-campus sites in the Texas Hill Country where we are now offering one very successful program. Three more programs are in the planning stage. Re-developed the 4-8 Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies degree programs and created a minor in education for those students who desire to seek teacher certification in a graduate program. I serve on the Angelo State SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools) advisory committee that is preparing for our SACS visit and the International Education Committee. I also serve on the NCATE committee for the College of Education. I coordinated degree and certification programs in Educational Administration, Counseling, Reading, Special Education, Diagnostician, Undergraduate and Post-bac Teacher Preparation. Program Development Increased enrollment in the Principalship program by 13% in one year by creating a distance education program to attract students from the El Paso area. Created new videoteleconferencing courses and web delivered classes to reduce the amount of travel required to Alpine. The new program increased our enrollment of school teachers who have young children at home. I lead the team of faculty and staff members who rewrote undergraduate degree plans, reducing them to 120 hours. This was a major demonstration of my conflict resolution skills. Converted the graduate level post-bac program to a master s level degree program and added distance education features. The program is intended to further increase enrollment. Leadership Member of CREATE s Educator Preparation Leadership Academy in which I was helping to develop a new model for Texas Colleges of Teacher Education. In 2004/2005, I was a member of the University Distance Education Committee. We completed plans to expand our video-teleconferencing classrooms

4 Member of the SRSU President s Academic Committee comprised of the Provost, Deans, and the Director of Teacher Education. Chairmen of the Faculty Senate s Teacher Education Council. The council coordinates the teacher preparation programs in the university s colleges. In 2003/2004, member of the SRSU President s Master Planning Committee. Member of the Quality Enhancement Planning Committee for the 2005/2006 SACS evaluation. Negotiated articulation agreements with Midland College and with the Ysleta ISD. Advising Served as graduate advisor for approximately 125 students in the Education Administration Program. Helped develop a plan to successfully correct problems. Provided in-service training to new adjuncts in classroom instructional methods and use of the Student Information System, RISC. 5 Other Experiences As a member of the San Antonio First Year Teacher Mentor Program, I presented formal and informal training sessions and hosted discussion groups to support first year teachers. I advised Schreiner graduate students and tutored TExES remediation. O Connor High School, Northside ISD, Teacher AP Physics August 2002 May 2004 I taught Advanced Placement Physics to seniors. AP Physics was a college level General Physics class and AP Physics II was a college level Technical Physics (Calculus based). Schertz-Cibolo Universal City ISD, Teacher 9-12 Mathematics and Physics August 1995-May 2002 Courses Taught Pre-Algebra Algebra I Algebra II Geometry Honors Geometry Pre-Calculus Calculus I Physics Chemistry District Teacher of the Year 1999/2000 Leadership I served as Chairman of the SCUC ISD Site-based Decision Making Team for 2000/2001 and 2001/2002 school years. I conducted monthly meetings for campus and central office representatives and reported directly to the Superintendent. The committee steered academic programs, created the school calendar, and planned facility projects. I made monthly reports to the school board on the status of district projects. I served as Assistant to Director of Elementary Education for the school year 1999/2000. I created the district s Annual Elementary Principal Evaluation Form and format based on the Texas Principal competencies as applicable specifically to elementary schools. I was a member of the district s 2001 Bond Committee. We planned the bond issue to fund a new high school and make improvements to other district facilities. Along with other committee members, I conducted public hearings to inform the community of the importance of bond

6 District Gifted and Talented Coordinator 2001/2002. I managed the budget and coordinated campus G/T program. During in-service week, I conducted G/T training for new teachers. Assistant to Director of Student Services 2000/2001. Also served as assistant to the Texas Textbook Coordinators Association President. Served on the new high school facility design team. I assisted the architects with technical requirements for the facility and represented the science department on the laboratory planning committee. Electronics Industry, Vice President of Vindicator Corporation, San Jose CA Oct 1989 June 1995 Management, Marketing, and Training Vindicator was the world leader in ultra-high security systems. Initially, I served as Vice President for Systems Engineering and later VP for Marketing. My responsibilities were to review and approve all system designs, direct the engineering and technical service departments, manage the technical training center, and market our services to governments. Major projects included the ones shown below. U.S. Embassies in Central America (I speak Spanish) U.S. Chemical and Biological weapons facilities Fort Knox Harrah s Casino Blair House Camp David Korea s Nuclear Power Plants U.S. Strategic Petroleum Reserves in Texas and Louisiana Russia s Nuclear Warhead Transportation Security (Rail Garrison) I did some work in educational facilities including: College of Dupage, NYU Medical Center, Pepperdine, and University of South Carolina Much of the company s business was international. I organized trade shows, directed marketing, and interfaced with government officials in many countries including the following. Performed system designs for high security facilities including the following projects: Flughafen Tempelhof, Berlin Germany USAF Intelligence HQ, San Antonio Osan Air Base, Korea Rocky Flats, Colorado Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico Subic Bay, Philippines Management I managed a $15 million system installation program with simultaneous projects in Puerto Rico, Italy, and the Philippines. The facility was constructed to house up to 200 preschoolers

8 Education Center Remodeled the existing education facilities on Kelly AFB. The facilities included administrative space, student and faculty lounges, restrooms, and 40 classrooms for training Air Force personnel during the day and college students in the evenings. Constructed two new classroom buildings. Technical Training Base, Galicia, Spain Program manager and senior engineer for the design and construction of a technical training facility for Spanish Air Force personnel. The facility housed 1000 enlisted personnel as students, 200 Noncommissioned Officers as faculty, and approximately 100 Officers as administrators. The facility included laboratories, classrooms kitchens and dining rooms, dormitories, athletic fields, parking lots, etc
