9 Dallas Community Colleges Good Afternoon Seniors, There are many of you that are applying to the Dallas Community Colleges. We have been reviewing our records and it looks like many of you have not brought in your acceptance letters from these colleges. I fear that you have submitted your application on the Apply Texas website and never followed up for your DCCCD student ID Number and then filed for the Rising Star that is offered through these colleges. Here is a step by step process of completing your application to the Dallas County Community Colleges(Brookhaven, Cedar Valley, Eastfield, North Lake, Richland, El Centro, Mountain View). Step 1: Go on line at Apply Texas and complete the application and submit, then request an Official Transcript to be sent to the college you are applying to. Step 2: Check your for a DCCCD , confirming your application number(this is not your student ID number), respond to the . Step 3: Check for your notification of admission with your DCCCD Student ID number, then bring a copy of that to Ms. Vega, Mr. Bonilla or myself. Step 4: Go to your E-Connect Account with your DCCCD student ID, then apply for the RISING STARscholarship through that account. It only takes a few minutes to complete this application. The monies for this scholarship are very limited and it is important that you apply as soon as your get your student ID number. Step 5: Request an Official Transcript to be sent to the Rising Star Scholarship program at the particular DCCCD college(s) you have applied to. If you have not done all of these steps, your application is not complete and you will miss the opportunity for consideration of the Rising Star Scholarship which will pay for your Tuition, Fees and Books. Also there are several scholarships on our Scholarship list for students applying to community or junior colleges. Please come in pick up the applications if you meet the criteria and turn them in. Do not rely totally on the Rising Star scholarship or your financial aid package to finance your education. Here is a list of the scholarships for students going to community or junior colleges: Erin Tierney Kramp, Muse Scholars, LeCroy Scholars, Neighborhood Credit Union, W. T. White PTSA. There are copies of these applications and information in the Scholarship Drawer in the College Corner. Please come down and get the information you will need. Look at the scholarship list for the due dates. If you have any questions about any of this, please come see Ms. Bechly, Ms. Vega or Mr. Bonilla.
