3 News Montreal, March 8, 2004 Opération impôts CKAC-CA on March 22, 2004 After last year s huge success, the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec and CKAC 730 are teaming up once again to present Opérations impôts CKAC-CA over the entire Radiomédia network on March 22, From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., listeners will be able to get free advice on their tax returns from personal income tax experts. Teams from three CA firms will take turns answering questions throughout the day. 4 News Montreal, March 8, 2004 Celebrating success! The annual presentation of permits to new CAs was held on Saturday, February 28, 2004 at the Montreal Sheraton Centre. Hosts Lise Lapierre, CA, and Hughes Lacroix, MBA, CA, welcomed the sizeable crowd that came to pay tribute to 173 of the 386 new CAs who obtained their designation this year. Claude Gauvin, FCA, Chair of the Ordre, congratulated the new CAs and reminded them that their CA designation will open the door to a wide variety of careers: If you make the most of the knowledge and skills acquired on your way to becoming a CA, your designation will be your calling card for success, regardless of the field you choose. 5 Celebrating success - continued The celebrations continued with the 2004 Gala de la réussite, held under an Olympic theme this year. The Actimax troup, including several actors and two sports commentators, provided the evening s entertainment. Its dancers enthralled the 500 or so guests with their amazing dexterity and feats. Richard Pound, FCA, Chairman of the World Anti-Doping Agency and swimming finalist at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome, joined in the festivities. He explained to the new CAs, top UFE candidates and their families that the qualities required to become an Olympic athlete are similar to those needed to obtain the CA designation: tenacity, rigor, discipline and excellence.
