3 Palazzo Feltrinelli, Gargnano del Garda (Brescia), Italy September 30 th - October 3 rd 2012 Two years have passed since the conference in Gargnano del Garda that formed HAWK and provided recommendations for management of HAE recently published in Allergy. That consensus meeting endowed with a better approach to HAE treatment. With this in mind we have the pleasure of inviting HAWK to meet again in Gargnano del Garda for another consensus conference, endorsed by the EAACI, on nomenclature and diagnostic criteria of the different forms of angioedema without wheals. The enormous progresses in the understanding of pathophysiology and in the treatment of HAE, brought into sights new forms of hereditary and sporadic angioedema. The literature does not provide specific classification of angioedema or appropriate criteria for diagnosis. Different terms as idiopatic angioedema, hereditary angioedema type III, non-histaminergic angioedema, frequently identify patients with the same condition. The 2012 HAWK-Gargnano conference is aimed at reaching consensus on the terms and the diagnostic tools that identify the different forms of angioedema and at linking appropriate diagnosis with appropriate treatment.
