3 About this Guide The Performance Management Fundamentals Leader Guide helps trainers at your organization facilitate the SuccessFactors Performance Management training for internal employees. Aasonn has provided this guide as a part of the Performance Management Fundamentals Train-the- Trainer course. Use in conjunction with the following documents, also provided by Aasonn: Performance Management Fundamentals User Guide Performance Management Fundamentals PowerPoint Presentation Performance Management Fundamentals Course Agenda (syllabus) Disclaimer Notice Every effort was made to ensure that the content in this document was complete and accurate at the time of publishing. Document Conventions Text Element Bold text Italic text Meaning Bold text is used to call out user interface elements on the screen when taking action on them, such as clicking a button or tab. Italic text is used to emphasize important information, such as a key term used for the first time. Note/Tip Notes and tips indicate neutral or positive information that emphasizes or supplements important points of the main text. Rev

4 General Training Tips Use Just in Time Training. Break the content down into shorter increments rather than cover everything at once. Every tiny detail does not warrant a lengthy explanation people will self-learn as they gain experience. Guide students by verbally describing the area of focus upper left, lower right as well as pointing with your mouse. Know your audience; be sure to address what s in it for me? to capture and hold their attention. Do not use the Proxy feature. Instead, provide realistic demonstrations by logging in and out of SuccessFactors as the various employees to show differing views and permissions. Encourage interaction and take questions as needed. If there are no questions, pose your own as open-ended questions: Who can tell me? How would I? If some attendees are virtual, become familiar with how to use your Web conferencing tool prior to a real training session. Prep Work: Prepare Your SuccessFactors Instance for Training Test Users for Demos You will need three test users while demonstrating SuccessFactors Performance Management: A manager An employee A second employee (on the same team) if you are using Stack Ranker Set Up Test Data For your demos: Stage Performance Form 1 for <employee test user>: In self-assessment step Stage Performance Form 2 for <manager test user>: In manager review step Rev

5 Prep Work: Pre-Training Checklist Complete the following checklist within a few days of the training session. Send an message to course attendees, making sure to attach the Agenda (course syllabus) and user guide. If some attendees are virtual, send the meeting access information (via WebEx, GoToMeeting, etc.). Add your company s SuccessFactors instance URL to your Favorites for quick access. Print one copy of the Performance Management Fundamentals user guide for each onsite attendee to use during class. Adjust and add notes to this document to make it your own. This includes replacing instances of <manager test user> and <employee test user> to show the names of the test users you are using for your demos. Review the Performance Management Fundamentals PowerPoint Presentation. Adjust and add notes to the presentation to make your own. Prep Work: Day of Training Checklist Hand out printed copies of the Performance Management Fundamentals user guide. Close your , IM, and any other extraneous programs that might interrupt the training. Rev

Read through the bullets on this slide, introducing the concepts/features you will demonstrate. Demo: Performance Management Overview Login as <employee test user> Demonstrate how to access performance forms from the To Do list Demonstrate the Performance page, and speak to the folders available Open the employee test performance form Demonstrate the main features of a performance form at a high-level, including: o Toolbar o Top display bar: Overall Score and Incomplete Items o Sections included on the form o How to save your work o Action buttons to move form forward Rev
