1 I have been in recovery from alcohol and drug addiction for almost 7 years. I am also a mom and would love to help get this rolling. I think this recovery community is a great idea. Lots of people with health issues, especially mental health and substance abuse, find having a support network useful. This is great! Hearing of this opportunity UMass has been given is so wonderful and I d love to be a part of it. Two years ago, this past I completed an inpatient recovery program for substance addiction. I know how incredibly hard, arduous the battle can be, and support is so very important. I hope to hear back!

2 I would like to see some 12-step meetings at UMass Boston. Also, it would be great to have some peer-lead recovery meetings for those with mental illness and/or a dual-diagnosis. I am more than willing to help out in any way to establish a vibrant recovery community at UMass. 11 months clean and sober! I go to AA, have a sponsor and home group. I wish there were AA meetings on campus. I am 6 1/2 years in recovery from alcoholism. I am very interested in helping others and in being part of the building of a community at UMB.. I am 10 years in recovery from drugs. What would be a good starting point which would benefit students if meetings were available on campus.

3 I been struggling to finish school, for a very long time now, and I am very thankful for my teachers that helped me a long the way. I am on a journey of recovery from both substance abuse and mental health problems. As I get ready to earn my BA in the fall, I hope I can give back by participating and helping facilitating in these new efforts to help our campus. In June, I will be celebrating 5 years clean from any mood or mind altering substance, and would love to help other students on campus who are also in recovery. I'm an alcoholic in recovery. I've been sober for 7 years now and remain heavily involved with AA. I would however be happy to be a contact for any students or staff struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction. I have a vast network of sober friends. We are always willing to help out people with substances abuse issues.

5 In June, I will be celebrating 5 years clean from any mood or mind altering substance, and would love to help other students on campus who are also in recovery. I'm an alcoholic in recovery. I've been sober for 7 years now and remain heavily involved with AA. I would however be happy to be a contact for any students or staff struggling with alcoholism or drug addiction. I have a vast network of sober friends. We are always willing to help out people with substances abuse issues. I am a veteran and I am 2 months sober. I am looking forward for this opportunity to share with my fellow alcoholic/drug addicts. I think that what you are doing will be extremely beneficial to the UMASS community, and also therapeutic for recovering individuals on campus who think they are alone. 6 I attend UMass as an evening student and find it difficult to attend meetings regularly since going to school at night. Recovery is so hard for me as far as getting to meetings which helps with balance and support since attending college. This is great and I look forward to meeting you and helping out with sharing information that I have learned over the years. I wish there were AA meetings everyday on campus. I think that what you are doing will be extremely beneficial to the UMASS community, and also therapeutic for recovering individuals on campus who think they are alone. 7 My anonymity is of some importance as I am a nursing student here at school. I am three years sober and am very active in AA outside of school. If there is anything I can do to be of help please let me know. I have struggled throughout my college education with being the loved one of an addict and it has greatly affected my ability to focus on my school work. I would love to see UMass support students who fall into this category. The one thing I have learned, it is hard to get people to admit they have a dependency. Therefore, it is just simply listening and being there when that person needs you. A bond of trust is formed and eventually the first step to admittance is there.
