The morning offers two panels, followed by a luncheon featuring Ottawa Mayor Jim Watson. Participants will have time during the conference to network with Mayor Watson s "Team Ottawa delegation. Panel 1 Biographies: Dr. GAN Zhongxue, Vice Chairman and Chief Technology Officer of ENN Group, and President of ENN Smart Energy Dr. GAN started his career at ABB Research Centre North America and rose to Technical Director and Chief Scientist of Automation. In 2003, he returned to China and founded ABB Research Centre-Shanghai. He is the architect of ENN s Industry- University-Research Institute collaboration model. Dr. GAN earned a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Connecticut in He has received numerous awards, and a recipient of distinguished Thousand Talents Program sponsored by Chinese Government. Joe Lombard, Global Managing Director, Metals and Global Managing Director, Light Metals of Hatch Joe Lombard joined Hatch in 2006 and was previously President and CEO of Aluminérie Alouette, the largest aluminum smelter in the Americas. At Aluminérie Alouette, Joe was responsible for a $1.5 billion expansion of its facility in Sept-Iles, Québec. Joe is one of the world's foremost authorities on the design and construction of aluminum smelters, with more than 25 years of experience in the development and expansion of metallurgical facilities in Europe, North America and South Africa. In addition to leading our Metals sector, Joe also provides strategic planning and development leadership for Hatch s presence in China, the Middle East and Brazil.

3 As Global Managing Director of Metals, Joe is responsible for project planning, costing and technology assessments for the sector. His extensive smelter project and operating experience has been central in directing and managing project teams. He has authored several technical papers related to best practices in smelter design and construction. Joe is a graduate of the University of Pretoria, where he earned a BEng in Mechanical Engineering as well as a BComm Hons from the University of South Africa. Outside of work, Joe serves as the Chairman of the Canada-South African Chamber of Commerce. Nicholas Parker, Founding Managing Partner, Global Acceleration Partners Inc and Chairman of Cleantech Group Inc. and Corporate Knights Media Ltd. Nicholas Parker has pioneered sustainable entrepreneurship and investment ideas and initiatives on a global scale for over twenty years. Nicholas introduced the cleantech concept to the finance and business community in 2002 while launching Cleantech Group, a market-leading research and advisory company based in San Francisco, New York and London. CTG has helped mobilize over $6B in private equity for cleantech start-ups, convened 10,000+ decision-makers at Forums around the world, tracked and analysed 16,000+ cleantech innovators while serving major corporations, governments and institutions in Asia, Europe, the M.E. and North America. In addition to continuing as non-executive Chair of CTG, Nicholas is Chair of Corporate Knights, the media company for clean capitalism, best known for the Global 100 rankings launched annually at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Prior to starting CTG, Nicholas accumulated over 15 years experience forming and investing venture funds worldwide through limited partnerships, family offices, corporate funds and endowments. During this time, he initiated the first trans- Atlantic "sustainability" private equity fund, the first pan-asian fund, the first crossborder India fund and participated in the second ever solar IPO on NASDAQ. He serves on several private equity and non-profit advisory boards including Bright Capital (Russia), Blue Economy Initiative, Clinton Global Initiative, Singapore Energy IAP, Inspired Evolution Investment (Africa), Purpose Capital, and the Network for Business Sustainability. Panel 2 Biographies: Noel Buckley, President & CEO, Ottawa Tourism Noel Buckley spent the past 25 years in progressively more responsible positions within the Canadian tourism industry, from front-line experience as a tour escort in western Canada to a senior marketing position with the largest casino resort in the country. He has a broad knowledge of marketing and sales, and a deep understanding of the tourism industry.

4 After serving as President of the St. Catharines Chamber of Commerce from 1986 to 1995, Noel was President of Niagara Falls Tourism between 1995 and In 2005 and 2006, he served as Senior Director of Sales and Marketing for the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort. Throughout his career, Noel has been highly involved with various tourism boards and commissions including serving as Vice Chair, U.S. Leisure with the Canadian Tourism Commission, Vice Chair with the Ontario Tourism Marketing Partnership Corporation s Americas Committee and board member of the Tourism Industry Association of Canada Bruce Lazenby, President and CEO, Invest Ottawa Throughout his career Bruce Lazenby has excelled at driving change and creating collaborative partnerships to meet clear and compelling business goals with gusto. After serving 20 years in the military, he went on to serve in senior technology executive positions including six years as CEO with Ottawa s FreeBalance Inc. Prior to joining OCRI, he was Chairman of the Ottawa Software Cluster for six years and Vice President in Canada for Corum Group Ltd. the world s largest software M&A advisory firm. As CEO of FreeBalance, an enterprise software company, Bruce raised millions of dollars in venture capital and debt financing, and helped grow the company by 300 per cent. Bruce was also a Chair and executive coach with The Executive Committee a global network of 15,000 chief executives in 16 countries. Lazenby s military service covered the Royal Canadian Navy and Air Force. He graduated from the Royal Military College and the Canadian Forces Command and Staff College. In the military, Bruce managed the financial management and accounting systems for the Department of National Defense worldwide. Before that, he was a Logistics Officer, Navy Diver and underwent pilot training. Amongst other locations, he served at sea, in United Nations peacekeeping missions and the Canadian Arctic. Bruce is a frequent speaker at knowledge-based executive events across North America, and in 2005, he was voted Canada s Private Sector Technology Leader by the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance. Jennifer McKenzie, Chairman, Ottawa Carleton District School Board Jennifer McKenzie serves as the Chair of the Ottawa Carleton District School Board (OCDSB). She represents 147 schools across the Ottawa district and advocates for the needs of over 70,000 students in Ottawa s public schools. Jennifer is very pleased to have worked with the trustees and the director and her staff to develop an excellent working relationship between the board and the staff and to have participated in the transformation of the OCDSB Board of Trustees to a more progressive and strategically focused team.

5 First elected in October 2006, Jennifer has had the pleasure of serving these two city wards on the OCDSB Board of Trustees. She works closely with the councillors for the wards and community leaders and serves on several community and citywide boards. Jennifer is an electrical engineer by training and worked in the high tech sector of Ottawa for over twenty years ending her career as Vice President of Research and Development at a leading high tech firm. She is a busy mother of three children who enjoys canoeing camping and cross country skiing in her free time. Sean Yang, President of Huawei Canada Sean Yang is responsible for expanding Huawei s presence in sales, marketing and R&D in Canada. Prior to this role in Canada, Sean most recently served as Senior Vice President of Huawei North America, where he was responsible for driving all sales operations in the region, and worked closely with global Huawei leadership teams on emerging markets and strategic expansion for the company. Sean is a recognized authority on international business operations and optical networking, where he has gained extensive sales and marketing expertise from his previous leadership positions within Huawei in Latin America, Central Asia, China and North America. More specifically, Sean was previously the Deputy Director of Huawei s Global Optical Networking Department ( ), and has also held simultaneous positions while in Brazil as General Manager of Huawei s Latin America Optical Networking Department ( ) and Marketing Director ( ). Sean holds a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Information Systems from Peking University. He is based in Huawei s Canadian headquarters in Markham, Ontario.
