mobile sludge dewatering Mobile Dewatering Unit & Filter Skips Over the years, we have identified that more and more of our clients are looking at ways of reducing their waste management costs. Any facility which has a wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) needs to have it emptied at regular intervals, depending on the size, usage, location, etc. Therefore, rather than having to remove all the sludge to licensed facilities, incurring both substantial disposal costs and transport costs, we can utilise a mobile dewatering unit and filter skips as required and dewater the sludge. Sludge dewatering is achieved by injecting a polymer into the sludge as it is being pumped through the specialised dewatering unit and into a filter skip / dewatering container, depending on the volumes of sludge. In some cases, it will suffice to just bring the dewatering unit on-site without the need for filter skips depending on the size of the WWTP. Depending on the type of sludge, dewatering will result in volume reduction of up to 90% with a solid content ranging from 10% to 15%. The mobile dewatering units can be used to dewater sludge from WWTPs, grease traps, septic tanks, etc. Other Dewatering Works Enva offer a range of sludge dewatering methods for dealing with wastewater treatment, settlement pond, and filter bed waste, including the use of AVC dewatering units, mobile decanters, and mobile centrifuge plants. We can also assist with the treatment and disposal of waste solids either through our Portlaoise EPA licensed facility, or through another relevant licensed facility

specialised services Throughout our long history, we have developed an in-depth knowledge of our existing client requirements in various tank cleaning operations, and we have developed this service over the years to include the following services. Deep Pump Station Cleaning Silo Cleaning Reservoir Cleaning Carbon Filter Exchange Hopper Cleaning Water Retention Pond Cleaning Cement / Sand / Lime Silo Cleaning Water Storage Tanks Digester Cleaning Lagoon Cleaning Food Grade Tank Cleaning Aeration Basin Cleaning Digester Cleaning WWTP / WTP Cleaning General Pumping Works Oil Heating & Removal Hazardous & Non-hazardous Waste Management Working with Enva on such projects offers a whole range of benefits for our customers, including: Experience: vast experience of Enva in successfully managing large contract work. Equipment & resources: large inventory of equipment and highly qualified personnel in Ireland (can be sourced at short notice, without incurring unnecessary travel or accommodation costs). Waste management expertise and resources: EPA licensed facilities in Portlaoise, Shannon, Cork, and Dublin, and partnership arrangements with many other facilities both in Ireland and Europe. One-stop supplier: ability of Enva to both undertake the works, and manage resultant waste in full compliance with all relevant legislation. HSE & compliance assurance: very high health and safety, and compliance standards set and achieved by Enva. Before the commencement of any project type work; a detailed method statement and risk assessment is prepared and submitted for client approval. If and when required, we can also act as PSCS and PSDP on projects on behalf of our clients

drainage networks Foul, Process & Storm Water Drain Cleaning A large proportion of our existing customers are subject to IPPC licensing, which in time, places a requirement on these industries to ensure that their drainage network is in order and compliant with their EPA licence. With this in mind; Enva can provide drain and sewer cleaning services to meet these requirements. We have a fleet of drain and sewer cleaning vehicles, which is supported by necessary equipment and resources necessary to undertake the works (incl. ATEX rated locations on any industrial / manufacturing facilities). CCTV Drain & Sewer Surveys Our service offering includes conducting quality drainage surveys of all pipe sizes, and providing detailed reports on same. These surveys are carried out using our robotic camera systems, which are controlled remotely from our CCTV unit. From his position in the CCTV unit; our operator can assess the condition of the pipe being surveyed, and highlight any defects in the line. On completion of the survey, we provide a DVD and hard copy of our report, detailing the size, length and diameter of the pipe, along with defects (if any) graded and highlighted. Multiple copies of the DVD and report can be provided if required. All of our surveys are carried out by suitably trained and qualified operators and our reports are produced to the latest Wincan standard. If required; we will gladly meet and go through the report with our customers, highlighting any items that need to be addressed.

drainage rehabilitation works Where we have completed a CCTV survey, and our client has received a copy of the report; we will highlight the defects in the report that need to be addressed. In order to meet EPA requirements; the defects to be addressed will more than likely involve either some or all of the works outlined below. Patch Repairs If the defect has been identified as a crack in the pipe, resulting in leakage from the line, then this can be repaired using a no-dig method. This system can be very beneficial in industries where production is required on a 24/7 basis, with minimal disruption allowed. The repairs are carried out within the pipeline itself by placing the required equipment, camera, etc. through the nearest manhole. The patching materials used will be based on the use of the lines - i.e. process, storm, or foul. Relining of Pipes Where defects in the pipe network require more substantial repairs than a patch; then another option available is the relining of the damaged pipe. Again, the benefits are similar in that there is no excavation requirement, resulting in no downtime of production and a more cost-effective solution to the problem. Once the existing pipe network has not collapsed; then it is possible to repair the pipe using a reinforced material suitable for the pipe use, resulting in a permanent structural repair. Lateral Cutting If it is evident from the CCTV survey that there are some obstructions or intrusions in the pipeline; then these can be removed using a robotic cutting device. Again, the benefits are similar to the other rehab works listed, in that there is no excavation required, no downtime of production, and a cost-effective solution to the problem. Examples of intrusions in the pipe network would be roots, steel lateral connections, timber, etc. This system would be also used to cut out openings of lateral connections following the completion of relining works. Pressure Testing of Lines To meet the conditions of some IPPC licenses; it is necessary to carry out pressure testing of their pipe network. This can be done either by way of a hydrostatic test or an air test. In some cases; these tests are carried out to ensure that there aren t possible pinholes in the system, which would not be evident in a CCTV survey. If such tests result in a failure on some lines; then these can be repaired using a patch repair.

tank cleaning Hydrocarbon Tank Cleaning While there are many companies who will claim to have experience and expertise when it comes to tank cleaning projects; not all can adequately support this claim. Since 1988; the Field Services division of Enva has been offering a comprehensive service for the cleaning of tanks, which may contain harmful substances, to a certified gas-free standard. These works cover tanks contaminated with aviation fuels, diesel, kerosene, light, medium & heavy oil. The service also extends to pipe-work dismantling and removal of the tanks off site. We are fully qualified to carry out tank atmosphere testing and gas-free certification, with operatives fully trained in the use of gas detection equipment and oxygen level metering. We are also able to thoroughly cleanse and remove the tank from our customers site, for dismantling and disposal. Alternatively, we can decommission the storage tanks via foam filling. All relevant safety regulations together with local fire authority recommendations are stringently adhered to. We have vast experience is successful managing and completing such projects on-time and on-budget, while at the same time maintaining extremely high health, safety, and compliance standards. Other Tank Types Enva have expanded our tank cleaning offering over the years, and we have successfully worked on many tank cleaning projects containing chemicals, glycols, food grade products, grease tanks, sewage and process effluent tanks, and water retention and storage tanks. Our customer base has come to rely on Enva for a far wider range tank cleaning because of our solid reputation to deliver safe, reliable and efficient confined space entry and tank cleaning services. The application of well thought out site safety and emergency procedures, isolation and neutralisation planning, fall arrest systems, and the use of certified and high-spec safety equipment, all under the control of our experienced personnel, provide customers with the assurance that confined space entries are completed safely and efficiently. We have successfully cleaned tanks of all shapes and sizes, and in various different environments (from product storage tanks in pharmachem companies, food grade tanks on ships, to product transfer tankers). Whether the cleanliness level is operational (e.g. change of product) or for inspection, Enva can develop a custom program to meet those needs. We can also utilise our waste management facilities and expertise to ensure cost-effective and fully compliant management of resulting waste from such works.

tank decommissioning Foam Filling of Underground Tanks This involves the decommissioning of underground tanks. It consists of pumping a foam into the tank at 7 bar pressure. The foam consists of two parts; a hardener and a resin. The resin is mixed with a hardener in the mixing chamber of our custom-built foam filling unit, and injected in the tank. The foam expands and fills up the tank entirely, leaving no pockets or empty spaces. When the tank is full the openings are capped and the manhole chamber is filled with foam. Foam Filling - Advantages RG22 is not toxic. During injection and expansion, the foam absorbs all residuals present in the tank. Venting and cleaning the tank isn t necessary. Emptying the tank is sufficient. The foam fills the tank completely, leaving no empty pockets or spaces. The process requires a 2 opening for the injector and a second opening for venting. Disconnection of the piping and dismounting of the manhole cover isn t required. Foam Filling - Advantages continued The injection process is quick, without danger and very efficient. The injection speed is 18m3/h per injector (can be completed under all weather conditions). After hardening, the foam remains stable and durable (expected lifetime of more than 150 years). Excavating a foam filled tank is not a major problem (weighs only 25 kg per 1,000 litres). Inhibitor in the foam protects the tank internal walls from corrosion. Offers a pressure resistance of 230 kpalcm2 when hardened. The foam resists temperatures up to 220 C. A foam filled tank can be excavated and surface stored without vapour accumulation.

tank decommissioning Foam Filling - Comparison Traditionally; underground storage tanks are neutralised with sand or concrete. Filling with water is used where a tank is temporarily put out of service. These materials are not only expensive and complicated to apply, but they are also not environmentally sound to apply. Water - water mixes with the remaining hydrocarbons and when removed, is expensive to manage. Long term presence of water in a tank will accelerate corrosion and create environmental danger. Sand - it is almost impossible to entirely fill a tank with sand. Empty spaces and pockets will always remain while filling a tank with sand is also very expensive. In addition to transportation of the sand; all pipes and conduits also must be disconnected and the manhole cover removed. A sand filled tank of 10,000 litre capacity weights about 17 tonnes when full. When removed; the sand needs to be treated as hazardous substance. Concrete - the weight of a concrete filled tank represents a serious problem. A 10,000 litre capacity tank with concrete weights approx 27 tonnes. There is a real danger that the tank will sink in the ground creating driveway lapse hazards. The filling process is particularly difficult and costly, when the tank is located in urban areas, under building basements, car parks, ware houses, garages etc. Excavating a tank neutralised with concrete is a very costly operation. Four or five solid concrete blocks in the underground will seriously jeopardise a property s value.

projects At Enva; we have many years experience of successfully completing large projects. The samples below refer to only a small proportion of the projects completed by Enva. We will gladly supply customer reference details for each of these projects on request. Project Type: 49,500 Tonne Heavy Fuel Oil Tank Cleaning Enva were contracted to clean a 49,500 tonne HFO tank, including the transfer of 7,000 tonnes of HFO, and cleaning of the tank floor and walls up to the first weld, as well as the removal of all contaminated hazardous waste from site. Enva cleaned all connection oil lines for inspection. Project Type: Sludge Dewatering Enva completed a sludge dewatering project that involved the removal and centrifuging of approx. 800m3 of settlement pond sludge from 2 cells of a 3 cell settlement pond (initially only 1 cell was to be completed, but the client decided to complete a second cell due to the successful nature of the works). Enva provided a DISAB unit, jet vacuum unit, temporary storage tank, mobile centrifuge plant, loading shovel, polymer, 80KVA generator, temporary welfare facilities, and trained crew in order to minimise the volume of waste transported from site. The mobile centrifuge plant was fully self-contained, and included a polymer make up (liquid) and dosing system, feed pump, flow meter, macerator, and belt conveyor for skip filling. Waste solids were deposited into a skip for temporary holding, and then transported by tipper truck to the Enva EPA licensed facility. Wastewater after centrifuging was pumped to cell 3 of the settlement pond. Project Type: Drainage Cleaning & CCTV Surveying Enva completed jetting & CCTV surveying works for approx. 18,000 metres of foul and storm lines, which also included the preparation of a detailed list of the rehab works required to repair the defects in the lines. On completion of the CCTV survey, the client was provided with both hard copies and soft copies of our WinCan V8 CCTV report. The report highlighted possible defects in the lines, and included a summary report of defects and our recommendations for the repair of same.

projects Project Type: Site Decommissioning Enva was tasked with assisting a client with decommissioning of a site, and managing all associated wastes from this decommissioning process. Works included the washing and cleaning of all interior and exterior walls and floors in the main works area for the site, removing residues from fuel tanks and associated pipe-work, as well as cleaning same (under full breathing apparatus with degassing certificate provided on completion of cleaning), removal of aluminium oxide sludge, cleaning generators and compressors that contained oil and coolant, removal of waste from acid and caustic tanks and lines, as well as cleaning of same, cleaning floors in the waste storage shed, and cleaning of grease traps and oil/water separators. After the above works were completed, Enva cleaned and CCTV surveyed all foul and process lines, as well as pressure testing same. Project Type: Acid & Caustic Tank Cleaning Enva provided trained personnel, compressor, pumping equipment, spray-ball washing system, UN approved IBCs, UN approved drums, and chemical resistant PPE to remove remaining waste from 12,000 litre sodium hydroxide tank and a 12,000 litre acid tank, along with cleaning associated pipe-work from each tank. Enva removed all waste to our EPA licensed facility in Shannon, which ensured our client had the comfort of availing of a one-supplier solution for both the cleaning works and management of resulting wastes. Project Type: Heavy Fuel Oil Heating & Removal This project involved 4 tanks with a storage capacity of 25,000 cubic metres each, and 1 tank with 40,000 cubic meters capacity. Enva heated the oil in the all 5 tanks and transferred 105,000 cubic meters to 5 ships in port. Enva cleaned all oil lines from the tanks to the port when finished.

Project Type: Cleaning of Molasses Tanks Enva were tasked with completed this project at short notice after another contractor could not complete the works. The works involved emptying and cleaning 1 x 11,000 tonne molasses tank, 4 x 5,000 tonne molasses tanks, 2 x 55,000 tonne molasses tanks and 1 x 55,000 tonne HFO tank, as well as all associated lines for all tanks. The project was completed within requested very short timescale (8 days) & within budget. Enva transferred 5,500 tonnes of sludge waste from the bottom of the tanks. We provided all items required to complete the required works. Equipment used: 3 x jet vacuum units, 1 x DISAB unit, 1 x jetting unit, 2 x hot pressure units (4,500 psi each), 2 x 28 tonne road tankers, 2 x compressor, and a wide range of air pumps. Project Type: Heavy Fuel Oil Tank Cleaning These works included the cleaning of 5 x 25,000 tonne HFO tanks, including heating heavy fuel oil in all 5 tanks with mobile boiler, transferring oil to one holding tank on-site, testing of oil in holding tank, and preparing the client for delivery of oil. All the tank floors and walls were cleaned up to the first weld, and all contaminated hazardous waste removed from site. All oil lines to the port were cleaned and removed to make way for new oil lines. Project Type: Sulphuric Acid Tank Cleaning Enva was contracted to remove approx. 3,000 litres of sulphuric acid from a tank via pumping to IBCs supplied, followed by the removal of a sludge deposit of approx. 2,000 litres from the base of the same tank. Enva then neutralized the internal tank walls with the use of a suitable solution, followed by addition of site water supply via tank cleaning spray-ball system. All waste was pumped into UN approved IBCs and removed from site. Project Type: Drainage Surveying and Rehabilitation Works Enva carried out jetting and CCTV works of the storm, process and foul lines at a large industrial site. Following on from this survey, we prepared a detailed list of the rehab works required to ensure that their pipe network on-site was intact, and that the EPA would be satisfied that they were meeting their requirements of their IPPC licence. These repairs involved a combination of patch repairs, relining, intrusion cut-outs, etc. All of the works were carried out by way of trenchless technology in that no civil works were needed in order to carry out the repairs.

general maintenance works Forecourt Maintenance Forecourt maintenance can be carried out to coincide with petroleum licence renewals, or due to drainage system blockages / chamber overflows (as well as simply being good practice to ensure a clean and tidy image for the forecourt). Enva provides a cost effective range of routine forecourt maintenance packages to suit individual customer requirements. Utilising our multi-compartment jet vacuum units and experienced crews, Enva provides a cost effective range of routine forecourt maintenance packages to suit individual customer requirements. In addition to general hourly or daily rate works, we can offer an all-in forecourt maintenance package that can cover the following: Interceptors Grease traps Aco channels and gullies cleaned and jetted Fill points Car wash pits We can also service water recycling units for large car washes as required, including the removal of waste, cleaning the unit, and refilling it after cleaning. After forecourt maintenance works have been completed; the Enva crew will issues a completed works docket highlighting all works completed, which naturally can be inspected by the customer before signing. Copies of waste transfer forms and waste certificates are provided promptly after works are completed.

Interceptors, Bunds, Wash Bays, Silt Traps & Sumps Nearly every industry needs to use an oil interceptor (also referred to as an oil water separator) to remove liquid fuels such as petroleum, oil, etc. from the wastewater it produces, in order to ensure that this wastewater does not pollute the water resources and cause environmental or health issues. The interceptor has to be cleaned periodically to keep it in fine working order. Moreover, the grit that gets collected in the interceptor tank should also to be pumped out and dealt with off in a proper and lawful manner. Similarly; it is critical that containment bunds, wash bays, silt traps, and sumps are regularly maintained to reduce the risk of safety or environmental hazards, as well as ensuring a business can remain in compliance. Depending on a range of different circumstances; we can offer a tailored solution that can include confined space entry (under the Enva confined space entry SOP), high pressure jetting, hot washing, filter changing, solid oily waste removal, etc. We can also offer a bund integrity testing service to ensure they are capable of retaining liquids in the event of a leak or burst tank. This service also includes the provision of a full report and interpretation of results for IPPC licence requirements. All waste removed from site is dealt with at the Enva EPA licensed facilities.

waste services Liquid Waste In addition to removal of waste from project works; we also offer a comprehensive service for the transport and treatment of industrial wastewater that is reliable and environmentally responsible. Typical wastes dealt with include oily water, leachate, waste water treatment plant effluent, sewage, grease waste, and grey water. Also included in our fleet is a hypalon (rubber) lined vacuum tanker, which was custom built for Enva to an extremely high specification. It is suitable for the carriage of Hazardous Products - ADR class 8, including acids & caustics, sulphuric acid, ferric chloride, hydrochloric acid, aluminium chloride, phosphoric acid, ammonia solution, sodium hydroxide, and hydrofluoric acid. We can arrange collection from any location throughout Ireland, and safely transport the waste under the Enva multi-region waste collection permit to our approved licensed facilities (Portlaoise, Dublin, Shannon, and Cork). This offers our customers the key advantage of dealing with one waste contractor rather than separate haulage and treatment, while it also assists in ensuring greater efficiencies in elimination unexpected collections and deliveries.

Dry Waste Our dry waste solutions can be customised to suit a wide range of industrial and commercial customers. Depending on the type and volume of waste, we can provide containers with an appropriate capacity, either open or closed, and our specialised vehicles are available to collect waste as part of project work or on request.
