5 Beauty Courses Beauty Courses Spray Tan This course is aimed at those who would like to enhance their earning potential by attracting new clients. Spray tans are applied via airbrushes to create a natural, perfectly flawless tan in minutes without the sun. Aftercare and client consultation are also covered on the half day workshop which is run by experts. 1/2 day Cost: per person Threading This course is aimed at those who wish to gain a good knowledge of threading techniques. Delegates will learn how to use modern techniques and product knowledge to create stunning party looks. This course is designed to enable you to create individual looks professionally. The course involves demonstrations and practical workshops to create two unique looks. 1 day Cost: per person Bridal Makeup This course is aimed at those who wish to gain a good knowledge of bridal makeup techniques. The following will be covered over the 1 day: Introduction to skin types and conditions Traditional bridal makeup Different cultures makeup and traditions 1 day Cost: per person Asian Makeup for Festivals and Weddings This one day course is aimed at those who wish to gain a good knowledge of makeup for weddings and festivals. 7 Intimate Female Waxing This course is aimed at those who have achieved or are working towards a Level 2 in Beauty. You will learn how to remove and shape body hair from intimate areas using temporary methods including hot wax, warm wax and sugar paste. Brazilian and Hollywood techniques are currently the most popular in salons. 3 hours for 3 weeks Beauty Courses Cost: per person Waxing This course is aimed at those who wish to gain a good knowledge of waxing techniques. The following will be covered over the 1/2 day: An introduction to flare and strip lashes Products in the industry Safe application and safe removal After-care advice 1/2 day Cost: per person Footcare - Pedicure This course is aimed at those who wish to gain a good knowledge of foot care. 9 Nail Courses The Nail Technology courses will comprise a mixture of theory and practical demonstrations. You should be willing to have nails applied and practise on other students attending the course. A case study assignment will be issued, where you will need to have home clients and take photographs for evidence. Nail Courses City & Guilds Level 2 Nail Technology The course will cover how to prepare and maintain nail enhancements using acrylic. Health and safety as well as basic manicure such as filing and buffing will also be covered. 3 hours per week for 16 weeks Cost: per person City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Artificial Nail Structures This course is aimed at those who have achieved the City & Guilds Level 2 in Nail Technology or those who have basic artificial nail skills and the manicure unit. The course will cover particular skills involved in preparing for and applying nail enhancements. This course covers how to create toe nail extensions with gel making glamorous toes. 11 Massage Courses Massage Courses Stone Therapy This 5-week course is for those delegates who already hold a Level 3 qualification in Beauty Therapy or Holistic Therapies. Stone therapy has become increasingly popular over the last few years. It is one of the main services provided in salons and spas. The treatment combines the effects of heat and massage and this enables a very deep massage to be performed. The massage you will learn is a Swedish technique which manipulates the soft tissues of the body to create a sense of wellbeing. 13 Deep Tissue Massage Deep tissue techniques are useful tools and an essential part of massage therapy if underlying muscular tension and restricted movement is encountered and not relieved by traditional classical massage movements. These techniques, correctly applied, can provide exceptional results in the rehabilitation of chronic pain conditions. Stretching also provides increased flexibility not only for athletes but for any client with restrictions in joint mobility, which overall creates a general feeling of lightness and wellness in everyone. The course will cover many different styles and techniques both traditional and modern, hair up and partial hair up. 1 Day Cost: per person Cutting Refresher The course is aimed at those candidates who want to build on their basic cutting skills and have a minimum of Level 2 hairdressing qualification. This course is ideal as a refresher course or as a confidence builder for those who have recently left college. You will be shown master cutting techniques that you can use along with the foundation knowledge which you require to create stronger commercial salon haircuts. You will leave the course with a greater understanding of creative haircutting techniques and the confidence to undertake more challenging styles. 18 Apprenticeships in Hair & Beauty Apprenticeships Apprenticeships Apprenticeships are work based qualifications where you earn while you learn Apprentices can be matched with an employer, or can be an existing employee who would like to gain a qualification You will go through an assessment in Maths and English, some apprenticeships may require you to also go through an ICT assessment The minimum hours per week is 30 The maximum hours a year old can work is 40 hours (including time in college) The minimum wage for apprentices is 2.68 per hour.
