There will be a decrease in: teen pregnancies unplanned and unwanted children abortions Students will be educated about birth control, the options, where it is available and the correct ways to use it People will be aware of the risks that come with abortions Families and partners will be educated and able to talk with their children/partner about birth control and the risks of abortion Digital Bridge Academy - Fall

13 The Solution Damian Diaz Maria Elena Salinas Patty Carranza Beatriz Vasquez Digital Bridge Academy - Fall Abortion: Three Solutions Educate youth about birth control and the risks of having an abortion. Starting in middle school Classes will be taught 2-3 times per week Make the public aware about abortion risks and the need for birth control Through public relations, articles, and brochures. Educate parents about birth control and risks of abortion. Provide a workshop at back to school night Supply guest speakers at events where parents attend Encourage parents to be more open with teens Digital Bridge Academy - Fall
14 1: Educate about birth control and the risks of having an abortion. Educate youth about abortion 2-3 times per week for at least an hour. Teach about other options to abortion: adoption, temporary custody, open adoption, and keeping the child. Before the class begins a questionnaire will be distributed assessing their knowledge about abortion risks and birth control. Digital Bridge Academy - Fall : Increase public awareness Help the public become aware of these issues through public relations, articles, and brochures Provide brochures to help people learn more about abstinence, birth control, and abortion. Provided outside of stores schools, libraries, colleges, youth centers, clinics, parks and hospitals. Create articles about women s experience with abortion and the unintended consequences. 15 3: Parents need to be open and talk with their children. Invite parents to a back to school night workshop about sex, birth control, abortion and how to discuss with their children. Have educated teens and parents knowing about the risks and other options besides abortion. -37% don t know the risks of having and abortion. -63% know the risk of having an abortion. Encouraging teens who have sex to use birth control and know the risks of abortion.
