6 Übertrag 60 Aufgabe 6 Read the text below. Are the statements «right» or «wrong»? If there is not enough information, choose «doesn t say». Tick the appropriate column. A great brainchild! Daryl and Kirth are two 15-year-old boys who grew up in the same small Australian town. They have always been friends and classmates. Like all their other friends, they enjoy going fishing or swimming at the weekends. But for the last months, they've spent every weekend in Kirth's room working on their computer word game. The idea for the game came from Daryl's younger brother, imon, who had problems with his reading. imon learns words more easily by seeing pictures and hearing information than he does by reading. His brother wanted to help. Daryl and Kirth worked together for over 200 hours to make a computer game and now it's ready to use. It's a speaking and picture game. For example, if you look at the word 'shirt', there's a drawing of a shirt next to it and you can hear Kirth saying 'hirt! hirt!' at the same time. The two boys have won a lot of prizes for their computer game and it will soon be on sale around the world. Many schools are interested in buying it. right wrong 1. Daryl and Kirth go to the same school in Australia. doesn t say 2. Daryl and Kirth like doing different sports with their friends. 3. For the past few months, the boys have spent most of their time outside. 4. Daryl and Kirth prefer playing computer games to doing their homework. 5. It took less than 200 hours to finish the new computer game. 6. In the computer game, you see a picture of a word and hear it spoken. 7. Foreign students would like to use the computer game. 14 Übertrag 74 Position 4.1, Englisch, erie 3/5, Kandidatenexemplar, 2012 eite 5

7 Übertrag 74 Aufgabe 7 The people below all want to watch a film on TV. On the right there are reviews of eight films. Decide which film (A-H) would be the most suitable for the following people (1-5) and write the correct letter (A-H) into the box. 1. Peggy likes watching old-fashioned films. he prefers comedies, particularly those with famous actors. he s not keen on musicals or thrillers. 2. Tim s hobby is reading and he enjoys watching films on TV where stories are taken from literature. His favourite books are those by famous authors of the past. He reads books about the cinema, too, and likes watching famous actors. 3. Belinda likes to relax watching the latest romantic films on TV, especially if they make her laugh. he particularly likes those which have some music in them. 4. Jamie enjoys watching thrillers. He prefers adventures which actually happened to people in real life, as he is interested in the lives of other people. 5. Karen loves listening to pop music and reading magazines about it. he doesn t mind what sort of film she sees, as long as it s a new one about pop stars or their music. A ee you in Paris This is about a journey across Europe in the 1960s. A group of young people travel across Europe in an old van, but nothing really exciting happens to them and it isn t very funny. It s a weak comedy film with singing. The actors are not well known, although some of them could certainly sing. B All about love This follows the usual love story boy meets girl, they fall in love and sing some songs about it. It s an enjoyable film, although there s nothing special about the singing, and it has its amusing parts. It comes to the TV screen very quickly, as it was only made a year ago. Music is our life This film came out last month, and all the young people are queuing to see it. There will be a whole generation of fans watching the music of this group, because ure Fire is everyone s favourite at the moment. D The lake view Although the main roles are all acted by wellknown stars of film or TV, the dialogue seems too slow compared to modern films. However, people who like usanna Miller s writing will enjoy it because it is beautifully filmed. The story keeps perfectly to the novel written two hundred years ago. E easide story This funny film was made in the past, but is still as good as it was 25 years ago. The main actors, who were already famous when it was made, made several more films together later on. The story takes place in a very unusual hotel at the seaside where the guests have lots of problems. F Prisoner for a year Photographer Elena Maine planned to work in a dangerous part of the world for six weeks. This adventure film tells how she escaped from the people who held her prisoner for a year. It is difficult to believe that this actually happened to someone who is still alive. G pace - here we come This film about adventures in space isn t supposed to be funny, but spectators laugh sometimes. Although this is one of several very similar films made recently, it s one of the better ones, as it certainly holds someone s attention. H Family affairs This film manages to show some serious problems a family can have in modern Britain without depressing the audience. You still enjoy the film if you have already read the book of the same name. There is some excellent acting from some completely unknown actors. 10 Übertrag 84 Position 4.1, Englisch, erie 3/5, Kandidatenexemplar, 2012 eite 6
