1 LIFT DATA MENU How to access the Lift Data menu: Access to the Lift Data Menu is via The Challenger User Menu option - Program Door Data. 1. The display will show: Program Door Data Enter Door No. (17-64):? # ~ Enter the number of the lift you wish to program. 2. The following will be displayed briefly: Waiting for Lift to Connect Press # to Exit 3. You have now accessed the Lift Data menu for the door number which you selected. The display will show the door number: # -Move On * -Move Back Lift 17, 0 -Exit or Menu Option: # ~ Scroll forwards through the Lift Data menu options. * ~ Scroll backwards through the Lift Data menu options. 0 # ~ Return to the original display to select another lift number.? # ~ Select a menu 1

2 LIFT OPTIONS - Menu Option 1 This function is used to record the parameters which control the operation of a lift. Access Time Override Timezone Low Security Timezone Lift Override Group Lift Security Group Reader Type Inhibit if Armed Dual Custody : The amount of time that it is possible to use the lift controls. : A timezone to control the times when the lift controls can be used without a code. : A timezone to control when only a card is needed to gain access to the lift controls. : A lift group number which controls when the lift controls can be used without a code, and which floors they can be used for. : A lift group number which controls when the lift controls can be used and for which floors, when a keyswitch is turned on. : The method used to gain access to the lift controls. : Stops the lift controls being used if the areas assigned to it are armed. : Controls whether one or two user codes are necessary to gain access to the lift controls. ACCESS TIME This record determines the amount of time that it is possible to use the lift controls after a user enters a valid card or PIN on the lift reader. The user is then able to select a floor number etc. during the access time. The display will show the existing access time: Lift 17, Access Time 5 Seconds * -Minutes, Enter Access Time: * ~ Change seconds to minutes or minutes to seconds. and/or? # ~ Enter and display a new access time (ensure minutes/seconds is correct). and/or # ~ Save the displayed access time and move to the next lift options display. 2

3 LIFT OPTIONS - Menu Option 1 LOW SECURITY TIME ZONE Records a timezone number. This timezone controls the times when just a valid card may be used gain access to the lift controls, rather than a PIN and a valid card. When the timezone is valid, only a valid card is needed to access the lift controls. This record is valid only when a lift reader is programmed with a Reader Type of Card and PIN via Timezone. See - Reader Type. Lift 17, Low Security Time Zone Disabled * -Disable, Enter Low Security TZ: * ~ Disable this function. or? # ~ Enter a new low security timezone. LIFT OVERRIDE GROUP Records a lift group number. Each lift group is programmed with a floor(s) and a timezone. The lift override group determines the floor(s) which can be freely accessed in the lift controls and the times which they can be accessed, without using a valid card or PIN at the lift reader. Lift 17, Lift Override Group 3 * -Disable, Enter Lift Group: * ~ Disable this function or? # ~ Enter a new Lift Override Group. next lift options display. LIFT SECURITY GROUP Records a lift group number. Each lift group is programmed with a floor(s) and a timezone. The lift security group determines the floor(s) which can be freely accessed in the lift controls, and the times which they can be accessed, provided that the security group input (keyswitch etc.) is turned on. Lift 17, Lift Security Group Disabled * -Disable, Enter Lift Group: * ~ Disable this function or? # ~ Enter a new Lift Security Group. next lift options display. Note: Programming for remaining lift options: 3

4 LIFT OPTIONS - Menu Option 1 The programming for the remaining lift options is the same. The display will show the existing setting: Lift 17, Card Reader Lift Data menu. next lift options display. READER TYPE This record determines what method will be used to gain access to the lift controls. Lift 17, Card Reader PIN Code Reader : Enables use of the lift controls by entering a valid PIN on the reader keypad. Card & PIN Reader : Enables use of the lift controls by either presenting a valid card to the reader or entering a PIN on the reader keypad or both. Card Reader : Enables use of the lift controls by presenting a valid card to the reader. Card & PIN via Timezone : Enables use of the lift controls by either presenting a valid card to the reader or entering a PIN on the reader keypad or both, depending on the validity of a timezone. See - Low Security Timezone. INHIBIT IF ARMED This record controls the ability to use the lift controls when any of the areas assigned to the lift reader are armed. Inhibited if Area Armed : A valid card or PIN will not allow use of the lift controls if any of the areas assigned to the lift are armed. Not Inhibited If Area Armed : A valid card or PIN will allow use of the lift controls regardless of the security status of the areas assigned to the lift. Lift 17, Not Inhibited If Area Armed "*"-Change Lift 17, Dual Custody 4

5 LIFT OPTIONS - Menu Option 1 DUAL CUSTODY Controls whether two user cards or PINs are required to be entered together to use the lift controls. Dual Custody : It is necessary to record two separate codes in succession in order to use the lift controls. Either 2 cards, 2 PINs or a card and a PIN. Dual Custody Disabled : It is necessary to record only one code to open the door. 5

6 LIFT CONTROL - Menu Option 2 CARD FORMAT This record specifies the Data format of the reader and card, key or token being used. Tecom ASP : For Indala ASP range of proximity readers supplied by TECOM SYSTEMS only. Indala ASB 27 bit : For Indala ASP range of proximity readers using 27 bit Wiegand format. K 32 bit : Special. Not to be used on new jobs. 26 bit ( ID = 16, FC = 8 ) : For Standard 26 bit Wiegand format readers. Tecom ASP Wiegand 26 bit : Special. Not to be used on new jobs. Wiegand 27 bit : For Indala ESP range of proximity readers supplied by TECOM SYSTEMS. CARD OFFSET This record specifies a number that is added to, or subtraced from the actual card ID number. The resultant card ID after processing is the number which is used when programming users; and which is reported to the printer and computer. e.g. Card offset is programmed as Actual physical card ID number is Card will be programmed as User 1; and will report as User 1. Card Offset +0 * -Neg, No: _ and/or?? ~ Enter the Card Offset required. INPUT ASSIGNMENTS This record determines the function of the 16 alarm inputs on the Lift Controller. Inputs Monitor Floor Selected : Inputs are used to monitor the floor selected, up to 16 floors. Inputs are used for Alarms : Inputs are used as normal alarm inputs and the security input if enabled. LIFT 17, Inputs Monitor Floor Selected 6

7 LIFT CONTROL - Menu Option 2 SECURITY INPUT NUMBER This record specifies the input number on the Intelligent Controller that will control the Lift Security Group. Lift 17, Security Input 3 "*" -Dis, Input: _ * ~ Disable the sucurity input. and/or? # ~ Enter and display a new security input no. AREA/S ASSIGNED TO LIFT This record specifies the area/s assigned to this lift that will control: - the reader LEDs if "LED On when Area Armed" is selected. - the "Inhibit Access if armed" function. 1, Area:?# ~ Enter or remove the Area numbers assigned to this door. READER LED OPTIONS This record specifies the status that the reader LED will indicate. LED On when Locked: LED will be On when the reader is ready. LED On when Unlocked: LED will be On when the card is presented. LED On when Area is Armed: LED will indicate if the area assigned to the lift is armed. (If more than one area is assigned, all areas assigned to the lift must be armed before LED will change state.) Lift 17, Led On When Locked 7

8 LIFT CONTROL - Menu Option 2 NON LCD ARMING STATION YES- The arming station does not have an LCD or the LCD is not used. Lift 17, Non LCD Arming Station - YES 4-LED ARMING STATION YES - The arming station is a 4-LED arming station Lift 17, 4-LED Arming Station - YES 8

9 LIFT TIMES - Menu Option 3 This function is used to record time values relating to the operation of lifts. Programming: The programming is the same for all lift times: Card To PIN Time 10 Seconds * -Minutes, Enter Time: * ~ Change seconds to minutes or minutes to seconds. and/or? # ~ Enter and display a new time (ensure minutes/ seconds is correct). and/or # ~ Save the displayed time next lift times display. CARD TO PIN TIME This record is only applicable where a user is required to both present a card and enter a PIN to gain access (See Menu Option 1 - Reader Type). Card To PIN Time "*"-Minutes, Enter Time: The Card to PIN time is the amount of time allowed between presenting a valid card to a door reader and entering a valid PIN on the keypad. (If the PIN is not entered before the time expires, the user will need to commence the lift access function again). DUAL CUSTODY TIME This record is only applicable where two users must enter codes (card or PIN) to gain access to the lift controls (See Menu Option 1 - Dual Custody) or where the user type indicates that they are an escort or visitor and must be accompanied. Dual Custody Time 20 Seconds * -Minutes, Enter Time: The Dual Custody Time is the amount of time allowed between the first user presenting a card or entering a PIN and the second user presenting a card or entering a PIN. (If the second code is not entered before the time expires, the lift access function will need to be commenced again.) 9

10 LIFT READER PARAMETERS - Menu Opt 4 FAULT MONITORING Defines whether the reader inputs are monitored for Tamper Alarm. Fault Monitoring - YES: The inputs are monitored for 4 states - Alarm, Seal, Open, Short. Fault Monitoring - NO The inputs are monitored for 2 states - Alarm, Seal. Fault Monitoring - YES * ~ Change YES to NO or NO to YES. Door Data Menu. OUTPUT CONTROLLERS Records the number of output controllers fitted to the lift controller. Disabled: There are 7 open collector outputs on the controller (4 with relays connected). Output Controllers: Maximum = 8 (64 relays). next parameters display. Output Controllers - Disabled * -Disable, Enter Output Controllers: * ~ Disable this function. or? # ~ Enter and display a new number of output controllers. FACILITY CODE Records the site identification number used in cards. Each system has a unique site ID. Site Code is Set to: * -Disable, Enter Facility Code: * ~ Disable this function. or? # ~ Enter and display a new facility code. next parameters display. 10

11 LIFT READER PARAMETERS - Menu Option 4 ALARM CODE PREFIX LENGTH Records the difference between the number of digits in an alarm control code and the number of digits in a door/lift control code. The complete user code is the alarm control code, and the prefix is omitted to make the door/lift control code. Prefix length = 3 User code = Prefix = 123 therefore the door code = 4567 READER PROTOCOL Records the protocol used to communicate between the lift reader controller and the reader. Tecom RS485 Indala RS422 : Used if the controller is not connected directly to an Indala or Wiegand Reader or if the controller is connected to TECOM Magnetic swipe or PIN code readers. : If the controller is connected directly to an RS422 format Indala reader, it will use this protocol. The display will show the existing prefix length: Alarm Code Prefix Length: 3 Enter Prefix Length:? # ~ Enter and display a new prefix length. and/or # ~ Save the displayed prefix length and move to the next parameters display. The display will show the existing protocol: Reader Protocol Tecom RS485 and/or 0 ~ Save the displayed option and/or # ~ Save the displayed option ARMING STATIONS TO BE POLLED This records if an arming station is connected to the Intelligent Controller. The arming stations listed here will be polled by the Controller. Polling allows the arming station to transfer data to the control panel. DGPs TO BE POLLED This records if a Reader interface is connected to the Intelligent Controller. The DGPs listed here will be polled by the Controller. Polling allows the Reader Interface to transfer data to the control panel. The display will show the units currently recorded: Note: RAS or DGP No. followed by, = on-line RAS or DGP No. followed by : = off-line or 1, Poll RAS: and/or Enter * ~ Update the display to show the latest on-line/off-line status.? Enter ~ Add/Delete a RAS or DGP. If the number entered is not recorded, it will be added. If the number entered is already recorded, it will be deleted. ~ Save the displayed arming station display to select an individual arming station. 11

Door and Lift Groups can be programmed in the User Menu, Option 20:- "Program Door and Lift Groups". Whenever a Door or Lift Group is programmed in the User Menu it is automatically downloaded to the Lift Controller. If the Lift Controller is not On-Line when the Groups are programmed, the Groups can be downloaded using the "Groups" function in Installer Menu Option
