2 Hanoi, Vietnam (UEB) Overview and History The Troy University- College of Economics cooperative program opened in 2004 in Hanoi, Vietnam. The original program was a bachelor s degree program offering the four year degree in Business Administration. The students are traditionally aged students who have completed 12 years of high school. In 2009, the Master s in Business Administration began. The classes are held at the COE building on the campus of Vietnam National University. COE has set aside an office for their International Training Programs where the support staff and administrator of the program are located. There are also four classrooms dedicated to international training programs. COE has an administrative staff composed of a Vice President, Director and Associate Director as well as several support staff. Troy University has a coordinator who works full time and serves the sites in Hanoi. In 2009 the name changed to University of Economics and Business at Vietnam National University.

7 General Business Major Overview The General Business major is 30 hours of upper division courses: The student must select one upper level course in three of the following five areas: Accounting Economics Finance Management Marketing The student must choose a concentration: General Business Business Economics International Business Small Business and Entrepreneurship

8 Business Economics Concentration Select five upper level economics courses (15 hours). Select two upper level finance courses (six hours).

9 General Business Concentration Select seven upper level courses among the business disciplines, with a limit of three courses in one discipline.

10 International Business Concentration Select three of the following courses not used to satisfy the business core global issues requirement (nine hours): ACT 4435 (3) International Accounting ECO 4451 (3) International Trade FIN 4435 (3) International Banking and Finance MGT 4478 (3) International Management MKT 4468 (3) International Marketing Select two upper level business or business law course electives (six hours). Select two modern foreign language courses (six hours).

13 Recent Improvements Based on prior assessment activities over the past three years, the General Business program has implemented several improvements, including: Development of a Capstone exam for the major Identification of a Capstone course Assessments of Financial knowledge

Standardized orientations are being created to provide information to all SCOB students. Orientations will be available through multiple delivery methods. Orientations will include explicit information concerning the end-of-program as well as formative exams. Student expectations for advising will be included. 2. Advisors will attend workshops to improve reliability of information not covered by the catalogs. Seniors evaluate faculty accessibility as good or excellent. This level fails to meet expectations. 1. Associate Deans and Department Chairs/Site Directors are charged with monitoring faculty accessibility. Each syllabus must specify faculty accessibility in compliance with the Faculty Handbook. Monitoring will take place at the local level and individual results reported for performance evaluation.
