This class opens the emotional box surrounding a claimant s worldview of both insurance companies and the claims process following an accident. A claimant s thoughts about insurance companies inspire their emotions which then drives their actions. This cycle reinforces their worldview which makes closing difficult claims impossible. The Psychology of a Claimant teaches adjusters and investigators the importance of intervening as soon as possible. 5 Nick Ferrante Senior Account Executive, Insight Services Group (ISG) Nick Ferrante is a Senior Account Executive for Insight Service Group (ISG) and is recognized by both clients and coworkers for his in-depth understanding of how social media and claimant psychology can shape the claims process by rounding out the concept of The Psychology of a Claimant. Nick has a Bachelor s Degree in Leadership and is a Certified Professional Coach through the International Coaching Foundation. Nick is a proud new father of 22 month old Olivia Ferrante and in his spare time he is a motivational speaker and life coach to young people regarding the importance of knowing who they are now and what they want to do in future. Paul McGahee Senior Investigator, GA Farm Bureau Paul McGahee is a Senior Investigator for Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance Company. He has been with Georgia Farm Bureau for 23 years. Prior to that, he worked five years as an independent fire investigator. He has a Bachelor s degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate s Degree in Sociology and Fire Science. He is a Certified Fire Investigator by the International Association of Arson Investigators and the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications. He is a past president of the Georgia Fire Investigators Association, the Chief of the Volunteer Fire with the Tifton Fire Department and is the lead instructor for Moultrie Technical College Firefighter 1 program. Cedric Battle Senior Claims Manager, GA Farm Bureau Cedric A. Battle, Senior Claims Manager, Operations for Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance Companies, Macon, Georgia has 16 years of property and casualty experience including investigating and analyzing coverage and liability claims primarily Homeowners, Farmowners, Church, Commercial General Liability and Business owner policies. He is a certified Xactimate Affiliate Trainer and has over 7 years experience with Xactimate and Xact- Analysis. Cedric is a graduate of Mercer University in Macon, GA. He is currently a member of the Property & Liability Resource Bureau (PLRB) Tech-Savvy Committee. 6 Jonathan Adelman Attorney, Waldon Adelman Castilla Hiestand & Prout Since the mid-1990 s, Jonathan M. Adelman has practiced in the areas of insurance defense, insurance coverage, insurance fraud, motor vehicle liability, trucking liability, general liability, and civil/commercial litigation. He represents individuals, corporations, and insurance companies in state and federal courts, both at the trial and the appellate levels. Mr. Adelman received his undergraduate degree from the University of Georgia and his law degree from Georgia State University. Mr. Adelman served as a lead articles editor on the Georgia State University Law Review. Mr. Adelman has been lead counsel in more than 90 jury trials. In addition, Mr. Adelman has presented arguments to the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the South Carolina Court of Appeals. Mr. Adelman was one of two attorneys designated by Georgia insurance companies to foster a legislative fix to Georgia s growing problem involving tactical conditional settlement demands. Mr. Adelman s efforts resulted in the successful passage of O.C.G.A Also, in 2015, Mr. Adelman again successfully represent the interests of insurance companies in the legislative process by testifying before the House Judiciary Committee in opposition of a bill designed to overhaul Georgia s uninsured motorist insurance bad faith statute for the sole purpose of creating a financial windfall to claimants at the extreme detriment of insurance companies. Mr. Adelman is a frequent lecturer and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, the Atlanta Claims Association, and the National Association of Professional Insurance Investigators. For each year since 2009, Mr. Adelman has been named a Super Lawyer by his peers in Atlanta Magazine. For 2012, Mr. Adelman was named one of the Top 100 Super Lawyers in Georgia. Also, on four separate occasions, Mr. Adelman s successful case results have been featured in front page articles of the Daily Report, Georgia s legal periodical. John Bethea, BSChE, ACTAR JDBC, Inc John Bethea, BSChE is an Engineer with more than 25 years experience. He is former Vice President of a specialized products division of the DuPont Corp. Mr. Bethea is a Certified Traffic Accident Reconstructionist by the Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction. ACTAR tests, certifies, and regulates Accident Reconstructionists. Continuing education is required to maintain certification and assure high competency standards. He has investigated over 1,000 Auto, Truck, and Motor Cycle accidents in 26 states including AL, AR, AZ, CO, FL, GA, IL, IN, IA, KY, KS, LA, MI, MN, MO, MS, NC, NY, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT and WI. He has testified as an expert 45+ times in deposition and/or trial. Mr. Bethea is the Preferred First Responder to Traffic Accidents anywhere in the USA for prominent Atlanta based Coca-Cola Bottlers Association and ORKIN Pest Control.

7 Chris Connelly, DC ImpairmentDoctor.com Dr. Christopher J. Connelly is board certified by the State of Georgia as a doctor of chiropractic. He earned an undergraduate degree from Radford University in Virginia, with a major in biology and minor in chemistry. Dr. Connelly graduated with honors with the title doctor of chiropractic from Life University in He has advanced training and post graduate certifications including; Texas Chiropractic (as a Certified Chiropractic Insurance Consultant), Georgia State Board of Workers Compensation (as a Certified Medical Provider Workers Compensation Professional), American Board of Independent Medical Examiners (AMA Guides to Permanent Impairment 5 th & 6 th edition), and New York Chiropractic College (Physiotherapy Certification). Dr. Connelly has been in private practice in Stone Mountain, Georgia for 17 years and has treated thousands of patients during this time. He has performed over 1,500 file reviews, over 200 independent medical exams, over 300 impairment / disability determinations and over 20 court or deposition testimonies. Dr. Connelly was elected by his peers to the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chiropractic Association in 2014 and currently sits on the GCA Board. In 2009 he became one of the few chiropractors in the state that was acknowledged as a Review Agent by the Georgia Chiropractic Board. In 2015, he was honored to be selected as one of the National Board of Examiners, testing new doctors for Part 4 of the National Board. Dr. Connelly has taught more than 40 seminars relating to causation, coding & billing, mechanism of injury, patient care, MRI reading and injury diagnosis. In 2011, he had the privilege of presenting a seminar to GA IASIU on injury diagnosis and causation. Rick Wakefield, DC, JD, PA International Healthcare Consultants, Inc Dr. Rick Wakefield is the founder and president of International Healthcare Consultants, Inc., a forensic consulting firm, based in Atlanta, Georgia. IHC specializes in peer and bill review, independent medical exams, injury causations, case management and fraud training. Dr. Wakefield has analyzed thousands of cases and conducted research over the years concerning causation and human factors in minor to catastrophic injuries and fatalities. Dr. Wakefield is a graduate of University of Florida, Life University and John Marshall Law School and has held numerous faculty positions at colleges such as Yale University, Hahnemann Medical College, Georgia Washington School of Medicine, Emory University and Life University.
