3 EDD:E CIRCUIT LEVEL ENERGY MONITORING Detailed understanding of what each circuit is consuming in your business. Help in understanding your energy use. Wireless or wired operation. Easy to fit. Cost effective. 24 hours a day, all year.

4 HOW EDD:E WORKS Edd:e can be plugged into every circuit on a distribution board. Using its specially designed sensor strips.

5 EDD:E CLOSE-UP Edd:e uses strips of sensors through which the wires run from the circuit breakers.

9 EDD:E VERSUS SMART METERS SMART METER Shows gross usage data across the whole site. Eliminates estimated bills. Data can be queried and examined on Utility Insight our web-based reporting platform. Can compare usage between sites and meters or sub-meters. Date is 24 hours old. EDD:E Edd:e shows usage data for each circuit on a distribution board. For example: all the power sockets will be grouped as circuits, lights will be spread across several circuits and HVAC across more. Can compare usage between circuits, with the reporting platform allowing you to group them in a wide variety of ways Data is in real time (takes five minutes to update). When you switch some equipment off or turn it on you see the effects that has on your consumption five minutes later. Edd:e gives the client much more detail. For example on the third floor of Utilitywise House the Edd:e report can tell you when, for how long and how much energy has been used by the lights running along the centre of the room. You can compare this with the other lights on the floor and with other floors or with our office in Portsmouth.

15 CITY ELECTRICAL FACTORS BRANCH A two DB Edd;e system allows every circuit in a typical branch to be monitored. The data showed a number of systems operating out of hours. Timers on the water heater, different timer settings on external and counter lights and office heaters made a quick and cost-effective saving.

16 UNIVERSITY OF BRADFORD School of Health was able to achieve a 33% reduction in energy use through behavioural change.

17 HERO TSC Edd:e showed that lighting was an area of high energy use. Each 300 watt lamp was replaced with an 84W bulb that reduced energy consumption and increased the light levels by 15LUX. After the lighting was changed a substantial drop in energy use, the new lights more than halved the energy consumption, the same circuits now consume kWh.

18 STEVENSON COLLEGE Used Edd:e to clearly identify where, when and who was using energy across the college. Edd:e identified several areas of high consumption and allowed our expert to drill down into the fine details to identify several energy saving initiatives. Once the projects were completed Edd:e acts like a watchdog making sure that energy waste does don t begin to creep up.

19 EDINBURGH WOOLLEN MILL Edd:e identified several areas of high energy usage Store lighting. Air conditioning. Once low energy lights fitted store temperature dropped and air conditioning use fell.

20 MALDRON HOTEL The Edd:e data showed a number of energy savings projects. It was decided to run a small trial to see what impact different light fittings would have on consumption. The trial changed eight halogen lamps for LED lights on a single circuit (the leisure centre lobby). The Maldron is now rolling out LED lamps to all suitable areas.

21 IRVINE LIBRARY Utilitywise experts made a number of wide ranging recommendation following analysis of the Edd:e data. Recommendations included: Targeting out of hours use. New controls for water heaters. Changes to staff behaviour. Occupancy sensors in appropriate areas. Timers controls on a range of equipment and lighting. Energy awareness training for staff. Changing the operating times for the HVAC.
