Admission to the program will be made only for the fall semester for all on-ground cohorts. The distance learning education specialist cohorts begin in both the fall and winter semesters. OTHER REQUIRED DOCUMENTS Goal Narrative (submit with online application or by mail) should describe career experiences and responsibilities and explains reasons for wanting to enter the Education Specialist program. The statement should include career goals and be limited to two pages. Site Preference Form Curriculum Vitae (resume) Recommendation for Graduate Admission Form from two individuals. Forms must be submitted in a sealed envelope with recommenders signature across seal. Please include this form with your application materials. 2 The Education Specialist Program is designed as a 22 month planned course of study that includes: FIRST YEAR Winter EA 740: School as a Formal Organization - 4 credits EA 747: Program Assessment - 2 credits Summer I *EA 701: Internship Experience I - 1 credit EA 748: School/Community Development - 2 credits EA 749: Testing, Measurement and Data Analysis - 2 credits Summer II EA 746: Curriculum and Staff Development - 4 credits SECOND YEAR Fall EA 742: Education Law - 4 credits EA 750: Action Research I - 2 credits Winter EA 741: School Business Management - 4 credits EA 751: Action Research II - 2 credits Summer I EA 754: Human Resource Management and Supervision - 4 credits Summer II EA 743: Professional Seminar - 2 credits *EA 702: Internship Experience II - 1 credit TOTAL CREDITS: 34 *The internship actually begins during the first class (EA 740) and runs through the entire program. A full time faculty member serves as the cohort coordinator/advisor, teaches the first and last courses, and oversees the internship. An internship progress report is submitted at the mid-point and a summary report is due during the final term.

3 Oakland University & Grand Blanc Schools Collaborative Post Master s Program Starting in January of 2013 An Education Specialist Degree Program in Educational Leadership Cohort-2 year (34 credits) program; learn with colleagues in a pre-planned scheduled program Up to 28 credits of the Ed. Specialist degree may be applied toward an O.U. Ph.D. in Educational Leadership All students are involved with a mentor for the duration of the program Program open to K-12 personnel who hold a Master s Degree Easy on line registration On-site classes and advising in Grand Blanc Class hours 5:00-8:20 p.m. Course teaching by Oakland University faculty Action research is one major focus of the program Attend one informational meeting on any of the following dates at: Mason Elementary School (Parent Volunteer Room) 4455 E.
