1 Your skills partner Food and Beverages Manufacturing Sector Education and Title Human Resources Specialist Salary CTC per annum R R Ref HRS/01/16 Department Corporate Services Report Corporate Services Manager Purpose To provide a Human Resources service to the organisation. Roles and Responsibilities: HR Strategy: Contribute to the HR strategy by making recommendations on relevant strategies, systems and initiatives Identify and interpret related legislation and its impact on the Human Resources function and ensure compliance Analyse qualitative and quantitative data required to inform a strategic Human Resources plan HR Planning: Contribute to the development and manage the implementation of the Human Resource Plan Organisational Design Planning & Development: Analyse workforce demographics, identify trends and forecast organisational needs Develop and implement the workforce plan Develop and implement OD projects and initiatives Conduct climate and engagement surveys Apply and implement corporate culture initiatives Facilitation of FoodBev SETA Board capacity building strategy and implementation thereof Change Management: Implement Change Management programs, initiatives and training Support Line Managers to achieve change requirements Talent Management: Assist with developing the employee value proposition and retention strategies Provide input into the development and implement Talent Management

2 programs Maintain and update Talent Management plans Identify critical roles and career paths Provide input into the development and manage the implementation of the Succession Planning process Facilitate Talent Management & Succession Planning reviews Performance Management: Provide input into the development and manage the implementation of the Performance Management process Coordinate the Performance Management process and maintain and update data Coordinate probationary reviews Training Management: Evaluate training proposals Assist managers to develop departmental development plans Assist with the development and updating of Individual Development Plans (IDP's) and training profiles Analyse and consolidate IDP information Coordinate planned skills development interventions Maintain and update the departmental training matrices and the monthly training plan Monitor and track training progress Industrial Relations/Labour Relations: Follow up on the closure of employee grievances Coordinate and facilitate disciplinary investigations and hearings Maintain and update the disciplinary system and records Remuneration & Benefits: Maintain and update salary scales Administer employee promotions, movements, transfers, etc. Review Payroll information (Salary increases, etc.) Prepare payroll reconciliations Prepare SARS returns Recruitment and Selection: Compile internal / external advertisement based on position and job requirements Page 2 of 7

3 Food and Beverages Manufacturing Sector Education and Your skills partner Prepare and conduct staff selection interviews and identify preferred candidates Assist Managers with shortlisting of candidates by providing a spreadsheet of candidates Onboarding (New Employees): Induct new employees Monitor employee feedback of onboarding effectiveness Exit Process: Coordinate the exit process Conduct exit interviews HR Information System: Create, maintain and update organisational structures on the system HR Projects: Supervise a team for HR projects to deliver project objectives Manage project communication for a project Monitor, evaluate and communicate simple project schedules Work as a project team member Conduct project documentation management to support project processes Reporting: Compile HR Reports People Management: Manage the Section to achieve work unit objectives (individuals and teams) Plan, organise and monitor work in own area of responsibility Manage individual and team performance and monitor and evaluate team members against performance standards Manage conflicts within the workplace and resolve grievances and disputes Ensure discipline is maintained in the department (Absenteeism, Time Management, overtime, misconduct, etc.)

4 Experience and Qualifications At least 3-4 years experience in a related role, of which 3 should have been at a management level or experience in a functional/specialist area Qualifications Degree: Human Resources Management Knowledge and Skills required SHE: Apply SHE principles and procedures in a workplace Coordinate Wellness programs for FoodBev SETA employees Customer Service: Apply the skills of customer care in a specific work environment Finance Skills: Apply budgeting principles Conduct basic financial transactions Prepare reconciliations relating to payroll Computer Skills: Use a personal computer operating system: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Employee Relations: Interpret and manage conflicts within the workplace Recruitment and Selection: Recruit and select candidates to fill defined positions Skills Development: Analyse the skills development legislation and apply it in the workplace Communication: Communicate in a business environment Apply advanced written and oral communication skills Report Writing: Present information in report format Workshops/Meetings: Page 4 of 7
