Through color adjustments, the image quality of IMAGE1 SPIES was tailored to the special needs in gastroenterology. Combining the camera and light source via the KARL STORZ Communication Bus (SCB) guarantees consistent, optimal illumination of both deep spaces and the near range. 3 IMAGE1 SPIES Discover the Potential IMAGE1 SPIES stands for STORZ PROFESSIONAL IMAGE ENHANCEMENT SYSTEM and offers examiners versatile visualization options for detection, diagnostics, and treatment. Five innovative visualization technologies are integrated in the new video processor: SPIES CLARA, SPIES CHROMA, SPIES CLARA + SPIES CHROMA, SPIES SPECTRA A, and SPIES SPECTRA B. SPIES VIEW: Parallel display Examiners can simply toggle between the standard image and the respective SPIES mode. Users benefit from the option of simultaneously displaying and documenting both the standard image and the respective SPIES mode on the same screen. SPIES CLARA : Homogeneous illumination CLARA ensures optimal illumination of all areas of the endoscopic image. Dark areas are dynamically brightened. 4 SPIES CHROMA : Contrast enhancement CHROMA enhances color contrast without altering the natural color impression for users. Color changes, structures, and the transition between tissue types are better visible in this mode. Standard image SPIES CHROMA SPIES CLARA + SPIES CHROMA IMAGE1 SPIES allows the combination of the CLARA and CHROMA technologies. In this mode, the image is homogeneously illuminated and tissue structures are clearly enhanced by CHROMA. SPECTRA A and SPECTRA B: Color filters In SPECTRA A and SPECTRA B, reds are removed by spectral filtration. As a result, red structures are displayed strikingly dark. 5 The KARL STORZ CO 2 mbi LED Cold Light Source The innovative CO 2 mbi two-in-one solution combines an LED light source and an air/co 2 insufflator in a single unit. In endoscopy, optimal illumination is critical for correct results. The LED light module of the CO 2 mbi LED is perfectly harmonized with endoscopes of the SILVER SCOPE series and the IMAGE1 SPIES video processor. The light module features a long average life of 30,000 hours at constant efficiency. Higher light yield reduces energy consumption and heat generation. The CO 2 mbi LED is the first unit that allows switching between air and CO 2 insufflation by the simple push of a button. Particularly in colonoscopy and complex interventions, CO 2 insufflation increases patient comfort. It prevents pain and raises the acceptance of colonoscopies. The KARL STORZ CO 2 mbi LED allows examiners to choose the desired insufflation medium before and during the examination. Furthermore, the CO 2 /air mode facilitates the economical use of CO 2 since the gas is only drawn from the bottle or central supply lines during the insufflation phase. Intuitive operation ensures reliable control and facilitates endoscopic routine. 8 KARL STORZ SILVER SCOPE Video Duodenoscope The unique KARL STORZ Albarran sterile module (ASM) guarantees optimal hygienic conditions during ERCP. The patented Albarran module allows the entire Albarran mechanism to be removed from the endoscope and autoclaved. After dismantling, delicate areas of the endoscope are easily accessible and can be properly reprocessed. The sterile Albarran module is then simply reinserted at the distal end directly prior to the examination. This assists in providing maximum hygiene during ERCP and the highest possible safety for the patient. The KARL STORZ HD close range optics are specially tailored to the difficult conditions in ERCP and offers completely new insights into the duodenum and papilla.
