3 1. Introduction DS-Pad Release Management System offers the brand new solutions for government, schools, banks, supermarkets, hospitals, etc.. DS-Pad (Digital Signage) is a network platform based on multi-structure development and supports cross-platform and cross-facility usage. The system uses B/S structure, users only need login the server via network to design and publish contents. The programs will be delivered to each playing terminals through network for real-time playing. 2. Installation Conditions Hardware System Software Network CPU:Intel Pentium 3.0G or above Memory:2GB Monitor:Resolution 1024x768 or above Hard disk:above 160G Windows 2003 Server Windows Vista Business Edition, Enterprise Edition or Ultimate Edition Windows 7 Business Edition, Enterprise Edition or Ultimate Edition Windows 2008 Server (contains R2) Application Server:IIS 6 or above Browser:Internet Explorer 6.0 above, Chrome recommended Office Software:Microsoft Office 2010 Media Player:Windows Media Player (change PPT to wmv) Static IP address (network IP cannot be set to be dynamic.) 3. Installation and Configuration of DS-Pad Release Management System 1) Installation Double-click the install File 3

4 Select the language Pop up the reminder: please close the security software Click Next in the installation page 4

5 select the components you need and then click Next Select the path and then click Install 5

6 Note: Make sure you have already closed the security software. 2) Activate System After installation, click DS-Pad Release Management System on the tray icon. Click Activate System or click Start menu-> All Programs-> PUBDS ->Activate System 6

7 In the interface of activation, you can send the machine signature to official software registration officer to generate the autoritized file License.key. Click Open License File and select the License.key 7

9 3) Installation and Configuration of IIS [Optional] 9

10 If the installation file is installed successfully, then skip this step. ISS need to be installed in Windows 2003 Server. It only need to be configured in Windows Vista Windows 7 and Windows 2008 Server. The DS-Pad Release Management System installation program already contains IIS, if you failed to install the IIS, please follow below steps to install and configure. 1 Windows 2003 Server Login Windows 2003 Server by using the admin user, click Start menu -> Control Panel-> Add or Remove Programs Click Add/Remove Windows Components and select Application Server, and then click Next 10

11 The system will pops up reminder to remind you to insert the CD Click OK 11

12 Select the i386 menu to install IIS 12

13 2 Windows 7(Windows Vista) Login Windows 2003 Server by using the admin user, click Start menu -> Control Panel 13

14 Click Programs and Features Click Turn Windows features on or off and select all the items under the Web Manage Tools and Web Service. 14

16 Click Confirm to finish installation. 3 Windows 2008 Server R2(Windows 2008 Server) Login Windows 2003 Server by using the admin user, click Start menu->administrative Tools Open Server Manager Select Roles and then click Add Roles 16

17 Click Next Select Web Server (IIS) and click Next 17

18 Click Next Select all the items under the Web Server 18

19 Click Install Note: If you configure the IIS after installing.net Framework 4, you should register the Asp.Net. Click Start menu->all Programs->Attachments -> command prompt (check below images) 19

20 4) Web Configuration [Optional] If the installation file is installed successfully, then skip this step. You need to configure the web after installation of DS-Pad Release Management System. The configuration operation is different according to the OS. If the web link dose not installed successfully on the desktop, you need configure the web by following below steps. 1 Windows 2003 Click Administrative Tools > Internet Information Service (IIS) Manager Activate the ASP.NET v4.0 If the status of ASP.NET v4.0 is forbidden, click the Permit button on the left side 20

21 Click the Create Website on the interface of Internet Information Services Create DS-Pad Release Management System Input the web name in the Web Create Wizard page and click Next 21

22 Select the website IP address, input the TCP port and click "Next" The default path of the web should be C:\PUBDS\DS_WEB Click Next 22

23 Select the Run Script and click Next Click Finish 23

24 Right-click the new website Click the Properties and then click Configure Add the MVC support Open the Application Configuration interface 24

25 Click Insert Unselect the Check if the file is existent to 4.0 In the ASP.NET tab, check the if the asp.net version is 4.0.*****, if not, you need to change it 25

26 2 Windows 7(Windows Vista 和 Windows 2008 Server [R2]) Click Start menu->control Panel-> Administrative Tools Click Internet Information Services Management and open website manage interface 26

27 Create Application Pool Click Application Pools and the click Add Application Pool on the right side of this page Input the name and select.net Framework v4.0 s version Click OK to finish the creation 27

28 Create DS-Pad Release Management System Right-click Website icon and select Add Web Site 28

29 Configure website information Input CNIT DS-Pad Release Management System as the web name, the physical path is the site directory; default path should be C:\PUBDS\DS_WEB, IP address is server IP, default port is 8080, select the PUBDS created before as the application pool. Click OK 5) Begin to Using the System Double-click the DS-Pad Release Management System icon on the desktop Enter the default Username (admin) and password (123456) If you don t find the icon on the desktop, you need to input the computer IP: port/ in the browser; Please see the Q&A for getting your IP address, the port should be Open the file Read me-ds-pad Release Management System and find the web address and communication address of DS-Pad Release Management System. The communication address should be service address of the DS-Pad. Note: if you still cannot connect to the server web after reading this file, please make sure that the real IP address of server is the same with the IP address of this read me file.(the dynamic IP will be changed frequently, so we suggest to use the static IP.) 4. Q&A 1. [Q] I cannot visit the website 29

30 [A] The network will be blocked because of several reasons, such as the antivirus software or firewall and so on. First, you need to check if the network is smooth, and then to check if the port is blocked. The following description is about how to remove the firewall. Please contact the relative company for the third party security software. Click Start menu >Control Panel >Windows firewall >Exceptions >Add Port, the port number should be 8080(see the real port in the Web Port). 30

35 2. [Q]Which applications need to be opened? [A] The System need to open the following applications service: ftp service, message service, MySQL service. The antivirus software or firewall may block the above service, so you need remove the firewall too. The following description is about how to remove the firewall. Please contact the relative company for the third party security software. Click Start menu >Control Panel >Windows firewall (Security Center) >Exception >Add Programs 35

43 3. [Q] How do I get the local IP address? [A] Click Start Menu,Select All Programs 43

47 The reason why this mistake has happened is because that the ASP.NET status service is not started. Click Control Panel Click Management Tools Click Service Open Service Management,find the ASP.NET Status Service (Service name: aspnet_state),right-click it and select Start Note: In order to avoid to start it while the computer start or restart, we suggest to change the start type to Automation 4. [Q] After uploading the materials, those materials cannot be used or showed You may not start the File Transformation Service. Open Control Panel Management Tools Click Service Open Service Management,find the DS-Pad File Service,right-click it and select Start 5. [Q] Failed to transform the Word, Excel files after uploading You may not install the complete Microsoft Office You need to buy the Microsoft Office 2010 legally and install it in the system completely. 6. [Q] Failed to transform the PPT files after uploading You may not install and configure the Windows Media Player. Click wmplayer.exe under the C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player to install and configure it. 47
