5 On line Training Platform (in progress) to allow dynamic course contents to be delivered digitally over the wired and wireless network to any learner, anytime, anywhere, at any pace and on various devices.

6 Training Management System : TMS (in progress ) a web based portal developed for management of training and membership data.

7 Provides students with broad based skills and specialized knowledge to ensure they grow their careers and stay relevant in an ever changing and highly competitive industry Learn how to develop effective decision making and problem solving skills at strategic, tactical and operational levels to manage supply chain assets and the flows of products, information and funds within the supply chain.

8 Facilitates professionaldevelopment opportunities as well as grooming & retaining talents in our industry. Aims at providing memberstaff with aspiring interests to pursue a part time degree in logistics and supply chain management at recognized universities in Singapore.

9 Who is eligible? The scholarships are open to Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents (SPR). Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered for the award: GCE O and A Level / Polytechnic (or other recognized diploma) Awardees must fulfill the requirements for the designated course of study with SLA Awardees must be full time employees of the co sponsoring company Consideration will also be given to those participate in nonacademic activities, e.g.. sports, social work, community services, etc. or recommendations of the schools

10 Tenure and Value Tenure of Scholarship The scholarship is only tenable for undergraduate programme. Each scholarship is tenable for the minimum period required to complete the full course of study, as predetermined by the programme. Value of Award Each scholarship will provide for tuition and all other fees deemed compulsory by SLA and assessed according to the requirements of the institution of study, subject to a maximum of S$30,000 per scholarship. The award does not cover any fees, expenses or costs borne by the candidate prior to the award of the scholarship.

11 Co Sponsor Scheme Groom and retain talented workers through upgrading and up skilling

12 What is commitment of Co Sponsor? As a co sponsor for the SLA Scholarship, company will contribute the sum of S$10,000 ( the Co Sponsor s Contribution ) towards the Scholarship Expenses of each scholar. The Co Sponsor s Contribution shall be used to pay the first S$10,000 of the Scholarship Expenses and the SLA shall pay the balance of the Scholarship Expenses subject to a maximum sum of S$20,000 per scholarship which cannot be exceeded in any circumstances. Upon the completion of the Course, the scholar will serve the sponsor company in any appointment which the Sponsor Organisation may deem appropriate for an aggregate period of two (2) years.

The MOU was signed on 6 May This is a tripartite collaboration by SLA, NTUC LearningHub and SISEU (Singapore Industrial & Services Employees Union).

16 for foreigners SLA NTUC Learning Hub Collaboration SLA received the May Day Model Partnership Award 2009 (Institutional Category) at the Ceremony themed Upturn the Downturn on 16 May The award is to recognize the collaborative efforts of the government, trade unions and companies to help address the current market needs and to reach out to businesses to train, retrain and upgrade skill level of their workers.

Obtain the fundamental skills in communications, learn how to assist in team building, develop team culture and improve team performance. Applying 5s techniques in manufacturing Gain knowledge and application skills in applying 5S techniques in the manufacturing industry such as housekeeping rules, selfdiscipline and standards in maintenance of a clean and tidy work area/ environment. Perform Warehouse Operations Acquire the skills and knowledge in performing stock control and housekeeping operations at work. 20 SLA NTUC Learning Hub Collaboration ESS is categorized into 3 broad series: A. Workplace Literacy Series (WPL) 3 levels available: Beginners, Intermediate, Advance. B. Workplace Numeracy Series (WPN) 2 modules at Intermediate (level 4-6) and Advance (level 7-8) levels Level 1-3 are incorporated under WPL beginner training C. Workplace Skills Series (WPS) The Workplace Skills Series is designed to meet the skills and competencies of three occupational levels: Operational level Supervisory level Managerial level Employability Skills System (ESS)
