2 2 This report presents Spring, 2010 graduate program participation of faculty and staff in North Carolina Community Colleges. Approximately 53 institutions responded to an survey directed to presidents and institutional research designees. The aggregate data noting a total of 598 faculty and staff were enrolled in graduate participants enrolled in doctoral, and 347 participants were enrolled in masters level. These numbers should be considered with some caution. Many of the institutions noted several qualifiers to the data, : 1) many institutions did not maintain data on faculty and staff graduate enrollments (thus, they requested voluntary responses): 2) some institutions provided data only for individuals who had completed at least 12 prior hours of graduate coursework and thus had filed forms with the HR office: and 3) some institutions reported individuals in educational specialists (which were not part of the survey request and not included in these figures). It is believed that these figures represent approximately 70-85% of the community college personnel enrollments. [In the report of select full-time staff with highest degree earned it noted that 3,384 had earned a bachelors degree and,212 had earned a master s degree of the total the 14,936 total full-time staff. ] ( Spring, 2010 Enrollments in Doctoral program institutions and academic Of the reported 251 North Carolina Community College personnel in doctoral, 120 of the individuals participated in North Carolina universities and 131 individuals participated in out of state institutions both within the USA and abroad. Of the 120 individuals in NC public universities, 91 individuals were in doctoral in adult and community college education, K-12 educational leadership, higher education, or leadership. Six (6) individuals were majoring in nursing curricula, 16 were in other curricula (other academic disciplines outside of education, as well as curricula in other in education, e.g., curriculum and instruction, instructional technology), and 7 individuals had no program designation. Table 1 presents the doctoral enrollments for North Carolina and a separate presentation for all other doctoral institutions. Spring, 2010 Enrollments in Masters program institutions and academic Of the reported 347 NC community college faculty and staff enrolled in masters, 207 individuals were enrolled in North Carolina universities and 140 individuals were enrolled in out of state institutions both within the USA and abroad. Of the 207 individuals in NC public universities, 61 individuals were in masters in the areas of adult and community college education, K-12 educational leadership, higher education, or leadership. Thirty (30) individuals were majoring in nursing curricula, and 100 were in other curricula (other academic disciplines outside of education, as well as curricula in other in education, e.g., curriculum and instruction, instructional technology). Table 2 presents the masters program enrollments for North Carolina

3 3 and a separate presentation for all other masters enrollments at non-north Carolina institutions, noting totals within each of three curricular areas.
