Responsibilities include organizing and planning of training, recruiting, counseling, budgeting, travel and public relations for the programs. Track coaching accomplishments include 8 Midwest Collegiate Conference men's and women's titles, including back-to-back outdoor men's track titles in 1993 and Cross Country coaching accomplishments include 25 Midwest Conference titles and 12 individual conference titles. The Grinnell Cross Country team has been Academic All-America as a team every year of the award being offered. Visiting Coach, Bahamas (Bahamian Athletic Association), Nassau, Bahamas. Dec March Trained coaches and athletes. Visiting Coach in Somalia, East Africa. Summer 1989, funded through U.S. Olympic Committee and the IOC. Visiting Coach at University of Toronto, Dec May Worked with national team members (primarily with decathlete David Steen, who later won the bronze medal in the decathlon at Seoul). Level II Lead Instructor for U.S.A. Track & Field Level III Coaching Certification (the highest level of certification in the U.S.) Selected as one of 21 coaches and sport psychologists as charter members of the National Sports Psychology Group to attend a national annual "think tank" in sport psychology at Utopia, Texas, Director of T.A.C. National Coaching Certification School at Grinnell College. August Certified as both Levels I, II and III Coach with The Athletics Congress (T.A.C.). (level III is the highest level of track and field coaching certification in the U.S.). Certified as one of a select national group of Level II T.A.C. Lead Instructors.
