1 GETTING STARTED A PINES UP NORTH WORKBOOK

2 Part 1: Define Your Purpose What are five this things you re passionate about? I m passionate about design, pugs, blogging, food, and business Are there any similarities between your passions? Some of my passions were necessary parts of an online business. Especially pugs.

3 How can you use your passions to help others? I could help creatives build their platform to grow their business. Sound familiar? How can you phrase this to explain what you do? Example: I help creative entrepreneurs build their platform to grow their business. CONGRATS! you just created your mission statement.

4 Part 2: Plan & Strategize Who is your ideal reader and/or client? Don t skip this step. I know you were going to. Be specific and include info like their personality, hobbies, and favorite social networks. What 3 social platforms do your they most use? I say three because you should overwhelm yourself with social media. Mine are on Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and possibly Facebook

5 What is your strategy for connecting with them? I try to build relationships with as many potential readers as possible. I do this by reaching out to them through Twitter & Instagram. Where else does your audience hang out? A lot of my potential readers/clients hand out on Periscope. I have found that being an active commenter gets me noticed by others.

6 How will you gain attention to your website? Tip: Social media is your best friend. If you haven t launched your website yet, find three social networks, and socialize like crazy! You want every idea customer/clients to know you exist. My strategy: Follow somebody on Twitter, read some of their blog posts, post a comment that adds value to their post, tweet the post and tag them. This is an awesome way to build a relationship with a blogger. They ll most likely visit your website after this, so make sure to have everything ready and a few blog posts up before you do this. What is your strategy for posting content? I send newsletters every Tuesday, publish blogs posts on Monday, Tweet every few hours, post Instagram pictures every few days, and post to Facebook once a week, etc.

7 Part 3: Future Success List a few goals for the next year. With each goal, plan how you will accomplish it. Example: My goal is for my design business to be booked three months in advance. I will accomplish this by putting a focus on growing my list and making it more appealing for my target audience/client to sign up. How will you grow in the next 5 years? I plan on launching new free material, a digital product store, workshops, and books.

8 Hey! You made it to the end. I hope you now have a better sense of direction in terms of where your online business is going in the future. There is two things that I really want you to have taken away from this workbook. You must have a passion for what you re doing. The workbook took countless hours to produce and perfect, but I enjoyed those countless hours, because I care about this. Even writing this snippet at the end is fun and comes naturally. The second thing is to build relationships with your ideal client. A audience of 1,000 daily visitors who read your content and leave isn t as good an audience of 100 daily visitors who are ready to invest in your products.
