Introduction The purpose of this documentation is to provide a description of the Enhancements and New Features that are available in Survey Workbench. A short description is provided below with links to the full details. At Least Validation in All Rank Order Questions For Rank Order and Drag & Drop Rank Order questions, you can now require respondents to answer a minimum number of topics. The At Least option allows respondents to continue ranking the topics after the respondent has fulfilled the minimum validation requirements. Piping Matrix Responses into Matrix or Rank Order Questions You can now pipe matrix responses into the Scrolling Matrix, Matrix, Rank Order, and Drag & Drop Rank Order question types. Corresponding images can also be piped into destination questions, provided they support images. Publish Survey Links to Social Networks You can now publish Open Participation survey links directly to Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn. The URL is shortened automatically for Twitter and LinkedIn as both of these update fields include character limitations. Scrolling Matrix Question You can now add a Scrolling Matrix question to your survey. This new question type enhances the interactivity of the respondent experience, and it enables you to insert images as topics, if required. Slider (Scale) Question You can now add a Slider (Scale) question to your survey. This new question type enables you to render scale questions as sliders. Your slider question can appear as text and image or text only. Translation Module Update You can translate the new Slider (Scale) and Scrolling Matrix questions into multiple languages to deploy your survey to a global audience. Update SPSS Export Limits You can now export values from text fields to SPSS of up to 4,000 characters. The data is exported to a.sav file, which is the default file format for SPSS. Please note that the Survey Workbench Professional edition does not include the Community Panel functionality. If you would like to upgrade to the Enterprise edition, please talk with your Vovici Sales Engineer by calling Page 5 of 49

At Least Validation in All Rank Order Questions Description For Rank Order and Drag & Drop Rank Order questions, you can now require respondents to answer a minimum number of topics. The At Least option allows respondents to continue ranking the topics after the respondent has fulfilled the minimum validation requirements. The new At Least option is available on the Properties tab. See image below. At Least option for Rank Order and Drag & Drop Rank Order When the validation is set to At Least X Topic(s), respondents have to force rank a minimum number of topics. For example, if you set At Least 2 Topic(s) as the validation for the question Rank at least your two favorite colors of the rainbow, respondents have to rank at least numbers 1 and 2. They cannot complete the survey if they only rank 3 and 5. See image below. Ranking at least two top topics Questions with At Least validation show all ranking options. For example, if you have five topics and respondents must rank At Least 2 Topic(s), they will see all numbers. Page 8 of 49

4. Scrolling Matrix Question Feature Short Description You can now add a Scrolling Matrix question to your survey. This new question type enhances the interactivity of the respondent experience, and it enables you to insert images as topics, if required. See full description inside Page 21 of 49
Scrolling Matrix Question Description You can now add a Scrolling Matrix question to your survey. This new question type enhances the interactivity of the respondent experience, and it enables you to insert images as topics, if required. Inserting the Question into Your Survey A new question type is available in the Insert Item dialog on the Questions tab. See image below. Scrolling Matrix question type The Scrolling Matrix question is a rendering of a one-sided Matrix with the Choose One type. You can add topics that include text and image or text only. Because the choices are the same across all topics, you can enter only one set of choices. It is possible to insert choices manually or by a library scale. Page 22 of 49
Note: You must enter text for each topic. You will have the option of adding an image to each topic. The Scrolling Matrix question type is available in the Step-by-Step questionnaire designer only. A placeholder for this question will appear in the Free Form Word Processor, but deleting the placeholder will delete the question. See image below. Placeholder for a Scrolling Matrix question in the Free Form Word Processor view On the Properties tab, you can customize the appearance, validation, and logic settings for your Scrolling Matrix question. Note: If JavaScript is disabled, the Scrolling Matrix questions appear to the respondent as standard Matrix questions normally display. Respondent Experience You can insert images into your Scrolling Matrix question or use text only. Text displays in the middle of the window. For questions with images, images are centered with corresponding text above. Only one topic appears at a time. See image below. Example of Scrolling Matrix question Page 24 of 49
Choices display below the question. The maximum number of choices that can display in one row is seven. If you enter eight or more choices, they wrap to a second line. A counter in the upper-right part of the window shows the topic number you are answering and the total number of topics. A participant can skip the answer by clicking the Skip button in the lower-right part of the window. If the question is required, the Skip button does not display. The respondents can change their answers using the View or Change Answers link. A list with all your responses appears where you can click the answer you want, and then change it. For image-based questions, the image appears as your answer, and for text questions, your answer appears as a link. To return to the regular view without any edits, click the Hide Answers link. See image below. Note: To rename the Skip button, go to the Questionnaire > Validation Messages and Labels option in the Questionnaire Designer and change the text under Skip This Choice. 35 Slider (Scale) question without images Topic text displays to the left of the slider. Images are to the left of the slider with corresponding text above. The slider is anchored on the left with a default of N/A; choices you insert into the question follow along the slider. You can change the N/A label using the Questionnaire > Validation Messages and Labels option in the Questionnaire Designer. You can also leave it blank. Note: Do not rename the N/A label as an answer to the question, for example, Often or Rarely. This item is a way for respondents to not answer any of the given choices for the question; the value associated with N/A is always zero. All choices appear across the bottom of the scale with a tick mark representing where the answer is registered. If you drag the slider to a point between the ticks, the slider moves to the nearest option. The selected choice appears bold and indicates your answer. There are several ways to answer the Slider (Scale) question. Drag the slider to the required choice. Click the choice name. The slider will move to the selected position. Select the slider and move it by using the arrow keys on your keyboard. Page 35 of 49

8. Appendix A Known Issues Page 47 of 49
Appendix A Known Issues Area Manage Reports Manage Responses Surveys Surveys Surveys Questionnaire Designer Manage Reports Manage Reports Manage Reports Issue Bars in Word or PDF frequency tables do not appear if the value is less than 4%. As a workaround, export a frequency table to Word, open this document, and add the bar. This will be resolved in an upcoming release. The "All Data from the Current Survey" export option does not function properly in SPSS; it only exports the displayed columns. To export all columns in a survey to a file, add them to the screen and then export to SPSS. This will be addressed in an upcoming release. The Reset button does not work with the new Scrolling Matrix and Slider (Scale) question types. While creating a survey, users may want to avoid adding the Reset button if they use these question types in a survey. This will be addressed in a future release. The randomize choices option does not randomize evenly for the first choice listed. This will be resolved in an upcoming release. In some instances of drill-down questions, where responses to Choose Many questions are piped into a Matrix, the validation can be off if the respondent goes back and changes answers to the Choose Many question. This will be addressed in a future release. Sliders are no longer styled with classes. Pending customer input, this is a potential feature enhancement in a future release. Two additional decimal places are added to the mean of the Top Box and Top Box Cross-tab report elements. This will be addressed in a future release. In some instances, when opening two reports at the same time, editing them, memorizing them, and then opening them again, you will encounter errors on some pages or report elements. As a workaround, edit only one open report at a time. This issue will be addressed in a future release. Mac users cannot export to PowerPoint This will be resolved in an upcoming release. Page 48 of 49
Area Manage Responses Page Rotation Issue When exporting to Excel, raw data appears as a number in the cell but is stored as text. This will be addressed in a future release. In some instances, if a survey has multiple page blocks randomized, the page blocks will randomize in the same order throughout the survey. So, if the random order is page 3, page 1, and page 2 for the first page block, it will be the same for all subsequent page blocks in the survey. This will be addressed in a future release.
