1 COMPANY PROFILE is a privately held company that is formed by forestry consultants and landscape planners and operates in the fields of forestry, agriculture, mapping, landscape ecology, pedology and phyto sociology. It is based in Florence, where it was founded in 1985 as Studio RDM Professional Association; but in 2001 it has been incorporated into a Limited Partnership (S.r.l.). Since 1985 Studio R.D.M. and have been working for more than 40 different agencies including international institutions (Joint Research Centre of Ispra; European Parliament DGIV Directorate General for Research; Danish Centre for Forest, Landscape and Planning, KVL ), national and local authorities, research bodies (Italian Academy of Forest Sciences in Florence -AISF-, Experimental Institute for Silviculture in Arezzo ISSA-, Experimental Institute for Forest Management in Trento ISAFA-, Italian Society of Botany -SBI-, ), university institutes (University of

3 Currently RDM employs 8 professionals, but over the years more than 70 free-lance consultants have been cooperating with the Company. RDM has broad experience in mapping, forest inventories, sustainable forest management, environmental planning and protected areas planning, project management, staff training courses and data processing. It has developed a network of relationships with officials of the European Union, Italian and regional governments, international and national University institutes and with others consulting firms. It has a well-developed electronic data processing system, a wide range of topographical and forest instruments and boasts of a rich assortment of international and national publications.
