2 A.I.C.E. Consulting Srl is a small business A/E design and engineering services company created by a merger with A.I.C.E. Co. Ltd. of Milan, Italy, which was founded in We operate both nationally and internationally in the following sectors: planning, design, project management, site management and diagnostic surveys particularly related to civil buildings, monuments and infrastructures such as bridges, viaducts, tunnels, etc.. Our Company's experts are highly specialized, and use a deterministic approach to face the wide range of problems associated with challenges in the field. Our expertise, along with sophisticated techniques and equipment, enable us to carry out structural and technical analyses to a high degree of accuracy, thereby optimizing the construction functionality and management as well as long term project maintenance costs. A summary of our Company's services includes: preliminary and final planning and design, site management and consulting for civil and industrial construction; repair, reinforcement, rehabilitation, upgrade and improvement work, or other special technical measures necessary to meet load safety standards; inspections, surveys, non-destructive tests and final inspections/tests/certifications; finite element mathematical (f.e.m.) models based on site test results; certification of construction in relation to actual loads; automatic monitoring systems using tele-measuring. Company Quality System In order to guarantee the quality of our engineering services to our clients, our Company uses a Quality System which sets out the project procedures to be followed, and which covers all project phases from the bid tender through completion of the contract. This System was created in accordance with the UNI EN (ISO 9001) regulations and is certified by an accredited Certification Body, in accordance with ISO 9001:2008, with certificate number In addition, our Company has obtained an ethics social accountability certification, which is the most prominent internationally recognized benchmark for socially responsible management of human resources. 3 Qualifications of the Company's Partners and Employees Our Company is made up of four founding members, who are experts in civil/structural engineering, along with employees and consultants who are specialists in the various engineering disciplines, and including a former DoD Civil Engineer Project Manager trained in US project management, site supervision and EM standards. The Company also has a large network of professional subject matter experts including specialized consultants, University Professors and a large U.S. design firm, Merrick & Company, which is readily available in the case of specific project needs. In-House Instrumentation Our Company has a variety of state of the art in-house instrumentation and methods of analysis/software available for diagnostic surveys and testing, both destructive and non-destructive, modeling and calculation. Most smaller items can be transported on-site wherever necessary, whereas larger pieces of equipment are normally rented on site (for example, by bridge inspection platforms). Project Experience Since the 1980s, our Company has performed investigations, site surveys, urban development projects, project planning, diagnostic surveys, inspections, testing, load capacity analysis and load rating calculations and fem modeling, seismic vulnerability assessments (which are extremely important in Italy), design of bridge rehabilitation/upgrades, drawing preparation using CADD format, preparation of technical specifications (also including the use of Specs Intact), design analysis and report preparation, cost estimates, final testing and certification, etc.. We also have a long history of design and on-site supervision of US Government projects in Europe with the US Army, Air Force and Navy.
