Art Education majors, Special Education majors, IECE majors, and Elementary Education majors work together to explore art methods and develop lessons for elementary children in order to learn and understand the importance of collaboration at the professional level. A technology component has been added to ART 341, ART 343, and ART 342 Fundamentals of Secondary School Art. Students enrolled in these courses must learn how to use MicroSoft Word, MicroSoft Internet Explorer, MicroSoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and MicroSoft Outlook Express to complete required course assignments. Upon investigation, it was determined ART 399 Professional Practices, ART 341 Fundamentals of Elementary School Art, and ART 342 Fundamentals of Secondary School Art may serve as substitute courses for CSC 199. Students must develop their own web page in ART 399. This substitution would streamline the Art Education program as well as provide technology experience in an art context.
