2 NoTrs The Kyoto mperial University Economic Society held its Grand Conference for the Tenth Year of Showa on the 1st and 2nd of June. On the afternoon of the 1st, a lecture-meeting open to the public was held with the following programme:- Prof. Kambe : Opening Address. Prof. Kojima : Public Loan Policy of Japan from the Financial Point of View. Dr. Tsuneo Hori, Professor of the Osaka University of Commerce : Mercantilism and Controlled Economy. Mr. Yosaburo manishi, Director of the Hanshin Electric Railway Company: The Present Situation of Public and Private Railways in Japan. n the evening of the same day, a dinner-party was given at the Rakuyukai Building by Prof. Kambe, Director of the Department, over i0 members attending. The second day, both morning and afternoon, was devoted to a series of debates, many fresh and stimulating discussion being evoked by the following reports:- Mr. Toichiro chitani, Professor of the Higher Commercial School of Kobe : A Conception of Neutral Money.
