3 Value Based Purchasing Understand the evaluation criteria for hospitals within each domain and measure. Identify two Healthcare-Associated Infections that impact Value-Based Purchasing scores. State the role of CLABSI in the AHRQ PSI-90 measure. Nadyne Hagmeier, RN Nadyne Hagmeier is an RN and QI Project manager for Kansas Foundation for Medical Care. As a project manager she develops, manages and coordinates aspects of the Medicare Health Care Quality Improvement Program and other projects in the hospital setting, with a focus on Healthcare Associated Infection and Quality Data Reporting, from concept design through completion. She works with members of the project team, advisory committees, healthcare delivery personnel, and others in the project concept design, development of the project idea/plan, mobilization, implementation, evaluation and reporting of quality improvement projects. During her tenure at KFMC, work has included the clinical topics of Acute Myocardial Infarction, Heart Failure, Surgical Care Improvement and Pneumonia, Healthcare Associated Infections and utilizing the NHSN database. Nadyne is a member of APIC including the Heart of America and Wichita chapters. Whatʼs the Buzz, Bite, Peck, or Sting? Update on Emerging and Re-emerging Diseases Understand the impact of the 2015 highly pathogenic avian influenza outbreak on the poultry industry and the human health surveillance, investigation, and response efforts. List the two most prevalent tickborne diseases in Kansas, and identify the areas of the state where most of these infections occur. Understand how rabies is transmitted and the circumstances in healthcare settings in which rabies exposure may occur from a patient to a healthcare worker. I have 12 years of experience teaching infection control to military healthcare providers and participating as a member of a military Infection Control Review Function. In addition I have 10 years of experience with surveillance and investigation into emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases with an emphasis on zoonotic disease. 4 Thomas Button, RN, NE-BC, CIC Track One: Infection Control Risk Assessment Process List 3 resources to be used as a guide to determine design and recommendations during the pre-construction phase of the ICRA process. List 3 risk mitigation strategies to be used in the ICRA. Define at least 3 educational needs required for the ICRA to be successfully implemented Tom is Corporate Director at Truman Medical Center, Kansas City, Missouri. Management responsibilities include: Infection Prevention & Control, Accreditation, Patient Safety/ Risk Managers. Truman Medical Center (600 bed) has two acute care hospitals, a comprehensive adult mental health facility, long term care in addition to primary care clinics, and other outreach services. A full one-third of uncompensated healthcare provided in the community is provided by Truman Medical Center. Tom relocated from Dallas where he had been the Director Infection Prevention & Control at Parkland Health & Hospital System. Parkland Health & Hospital System includes Parkland Memorial Hospital, Parkland Womenʼs Health Centers, Dallas County Jail Services, and Parklands Community Oriented Primary Care Centers. Tom obtained his BSN from Mount Mercy College, Cedar Rapids Iowa. In 1994 he obtained a graduate level certification in Managing Health Care Systems from the Florida International University College of Business, Miami, Florida. Tom obtained CIC in 2006 and has maintained his ANCC Certification in Nursing Administration since October Accomplishments in Infection Prevention include abstracts or storyboards on VAP, outbreak investigation and SSI, environmental cleaning and hand hygiene and a speaker at APIC DFW, Texas Society of Infection Control & Prevention (TSCIP), Greater Kansas City APIC. He has extensive curriculum vitae spanning a greater than 30 year career as an RN including employment at large adult teaching hospitals, large pediatric teaching hospitals and small rural facilities. He is currently a member of the APIC Nominating and Awards Committee.

He has more than 40 years of clinical experience in behavioral health and worked in the Employee Assistance field for more than 30 years. His background includes being a: Licensed Psychologist Certified Employee Assistance Professional Certified Substance Abuse Counselor Coach and trainer He implemented the LIFEWISETM EAP at Saint Luke's Hospital of Kansas City in The program enrolled more than 80,000 employees and offered five locations in the Greater Kansas City area and 40,000 globally. Annually, the EAP provided counseling, consultation, training and coaching to almost 15,000 employees and their families. Mr. Tidd retired from that role in January of After taking a short break, Mr. Tidd joined the Saint Lukeʼs Health Systemʼs Organizational Development and Talent Management Department. As a Leadership Change Consultant, he provides training, consultation and assistance on special projects. Personally, he spends time grand parenting, flying as a private pilot, creating stained glass pieces and traveling.

She is also the past Chief Learning Officer for the Emergency Medicine Patient Safety Foundation and a current board member. She was a director for risk management and patient safety for five years for the Doctors Company. She was the past VP of Legal Services at a community hospital in addition to being the Privacy Officer and the Compliance Officer. She worked for over 8 years as the Director of Risk Management and Health Policy for the Ohio Hospital Association. She was also the immediate past director of hospital patient safety and risk management for The Doctors Insurance Company in Columbus area for five years. She does frequent lectures on legal and risk management issues and writes numerous publications. Sue has been a medico-legal consultant for over 30 years. She has done many educational programs for nurses, physicians, and other health care providers on topics such as nursing law, ethics and nursing, malpractice prevention, HIPAA medical record confidentiality, EMTALA anti-dumping law, Joint Commission issues, CMS issues, documentation, medication errors, medical errors, documentation, pain management, federal laws for nursing, sentinel events, MRI Safety, Legal Issues in Surgery, patient safety and other similar topics. She is a leading expert in the country on CMS hospital CoPs issues and does over 250 educational programs per year. She was the first one in the country to be a certified professional in CMS. She also teaches the course for the CMS certification program. She also writes many articles for Briefing on the Joint Commission. She also writes articles on ambulatory surgery and present educational programs on ambulatory surgery issues. She was affiliated with Mount Carmel College of Nursing as an adjunct nursing professor for over seventeen years. She was also a trial attorney for eight years defending nurses, physicians and healthcare facilities. She has been employed in the nursing profession for more than 30 years. Ms. Calloway has legal experience in medical malpractice defense for physicians, nurses and other health professionals. She is also certified in healthcare risk management by the American Society of Healthcare Risk Managers. Ms. Calloway received her AD in nursing from Central Ohio Technical College, her BA, BSN, MSN (summa cum laude) and JD (with honors) degrees are from Capital University in Columbus. She is a member of many professional organizations. She has a certificate in insurance from the American Insurance Institute. Ms. Calloway has given many presentations locally and nationally to nurses, physicians and attorneys on medical and legal issues. She has authored numerous articles and over 1000 articles and 102 books, including the 2015 Joint Commission Leadership Standards, 2013 CMS Anesthesia Standards: Cracking the Code, 2009 Joint Commission Leadership Standard (HCPro), Nursing and the Law (PESI, 1986 and 1987), Ohio Nursing Law (West Publishing), Nursing Ethics and the Law (PESI, 1986), Legal Issues in Supervising Nurses (PESI, 1988), Medicine Made Easy (PESI, 1992) and The Law for Nurses Who Supervise/Manage Others (PESI, 1993), Legal Issues in Obstetrics (PESI, 1997) and JC Leadership Standards (HCPro, 2004), and the Compliance Guide to the CMS and the Joint Commission Patient Rights Standards (HCPro, 2005), and the 2009 book on the Joint Commission Leadership Standards (HCPro).
