2 Background Information 1. The Corporation has agreed: 1.1 To establish a Register of Members Interests. 1.2 The Clerk to the Corporation is responsible for maintaining the Register. 1.3 A copy of the Register is lodged in corporation files in the College Library. 1.4 A reference to the existence of the Register is made in annually published accounts. 1.5 Members are requested to supply information on interests that they perceive to be of relevance to their membership of the Corporation on the basis of their best knowledge and belief at the time of declaration. 1.6 The scope of the Register of Interests declaration form should cover interests (financial and non-financial) of Members and their immediate family and dependants and of the Senior Managers with budgetary or financial responsibility. 1.7 Significant shareholdings need only be disclosed in companies that dealt with the Corporation. 2. In addition to this Register, the College Code of Conduct requires that members should declare openly and immediately any personal conflict of interest arising from a matter before the governors or from any other aspect of governorship. Declaration of Interests is an agenda item at each meeting of the Corporation and its Committees. Huntingdonshire Regional College Register of Interests / 2014

3 Guidance Notes Any interest, financial or otherwise, which, if publicly known, is likely to be or would be perceived as being likely to interfere with the exercise of independent judgement should be disclosed to the Corporation. This Register enables Governors, Co-opted Committee Members and Senior Staff to disclose business and other relevant interests in a manner which is open and transparent and demonstrates to the public that such interests have not influenced the Corporation s decision-taking process. Individuals are in the best position to decide what business and other interests are relevant and should be disclosed. All individuals are asked to complete the section detailing their employment details and it may be helpful to consider whether any other particular interest should be disclosed by reference to the following general guidelines: Category of Interest Paid employment Self-employment Consultancies (paid and unpaid) Directorships of commercial companies Significant shareholdings Elected Office ships or participation in the Information to be disclosed Name and address of Employer(s), Job title(s) Name and nature of business. Names of significant customers/clients accounting for more than, say, 10% of income of individual or firm.
